Well I was dead wrong. Didn't see anyway we get worse than a 3rd after making the conference champ game. UNC a 2 seed with the same number of losses? And we beat them heads up in NC...wow
UNC played well down the stretch. They had some close games in the tourney, but those losses to CU and NU really killed us. Those teams had no business beating Texas, although everyone, including myself, forget that we start two freshmen.
Me too, Tulsa, then New Orleans, right? It would be better if it was San Antone but Nawlins (if we get there) is not exactly turble, as Sir Charles would put it.
UNC got dismantled by Duke today like we did against ku. Both teams lost to 1 seeds. UNC also barely survived their first 2 games just to make it to that *** whipping by Duke. We beat them heads up in UNC and they have the same # of losses. I think we got screwed but hey...who gives a ****.
Our team choking at the end of the season has really soct us. We will be lucky to win 3 games in this tournament. We had everything going for us and them we choke.
anaheim, great. I was looking at the SE bracket or something like that. Empty the brackets were cornfusin' and stuff. that or I was still in disbelief as they unveiled Florda.
I thought it was 4 seed post win in Waco, pending Big 12. But I sure thought the 3rd win over 7-seed Aggy would move us up to Purdue's slot on the #3 line. Purdue finished their year losing at Iowa, and getting absolutely run in front of the friendly's in Indianapolis by Michigan State. Texas was gassed against Kansas last night. But where would Texas have been seeded had they swept Kansas? At least the Horns get Arizona in Tulsa. Probably be at least a neutral game. Let's hope the referees don't decide to call a bunch of ticky tack stuff on Tristan versus Oakland. Oakland is no joke. I'll be in Vegas and will not touch Texas except on the money line. Would you want to watch Gary Johnson shoot free throws in an attempt to cover?!!!!
Syracuse is 8-6 in their last 14. They played a typical poor non-conference schedule. Give them a #3.
UNC had about 3 two point wins and an OT win in their last 10 or so games. Duke handled them easily today. Very mediocre conference. Lost at home to Texas. Lost at home to Illinois.
UF got beat handily versus UF today. The SEC sucks.
Texas effectively lost seeding because of their stretch run - two single possession losses on the road, one at home against a 5 seed, one on a quasi neutral to a 1 seed.
UConn is not punished by their mid-season slide and given huge credit for their tourney run. See Syracuse a few years ago when A&M easily eliminated them as a #5 seed.
Regular season schedule means nothing. We beat a 1 at their place, a 2 at their place, went toe-to-toe with another 1, lost by 1 to a 3, dominated a 7 three times, beat a 9 and 10 away from home, throtled a 11......
I can't wait until Barnes is gone. He lied at the very first Austin Longhorn Club meeting he attended and he has no clue how to teach free throw shooting. He and Jerry Gray must hang out together.
He is a gomer supreme (he can't even put a proper English sentence together).
Bring on the next Texas head basketball coach and let's just move to the level at which Texas belongs.
not sure why runner-up in a major... with a road win over the #1 seed and conf winner, does not warrant a #2 or #3 just on principle, regardless of late season peformances. UT did play at Mhichgan State, at UNC, at Pitt and hosted UConn. They either won those or lost by a few points, plus a double-digit win at Lawrence.
How is that a #4 positioned to have to play at #1 seed in the opening regional round? if they make it that far.
Longhorns got hosed somehow in all of this compared to the play of many top teams who all showed wear & tear late in the season. This seeding and placement makes no sense whatsoever.
Maybe the youth and lack of ability to impose a game late in the season did the group in.
It always seems with the NCAA there is a lineup of teams where it's "show me anything and you get a good seed," and the list that's "one flaw and you go down, dude."
Well, overall, the seeding this year is a load of crap--Texas a #4, while Florida and NC are #2s, and CU is left out? Guess I shouldn't have expected anything different with the tOSU AD in charge of the selection committee.
Texas will need to show what they are made of in all of their games to advance. Oakland will not be an easy out. Arizona is surprisingly tough and then they get Duke if they somehow make it past the first weekend.
Show me Texas. There should be some great games if Texas can keep winning.
Does it really matter what seed Texas is if they Struggle past Oakland and lose to Arizona? I think leaving off Colorado was a mistake but i think the Buffs do well in the NIT
4 seed is an absolute freaking joke and slap in the face. Unbelievable. Just a horrendous decision. No justification for this. AND...being moved out West? Deserved, with their ENTIR body of work and resume, at the least a 3 seed and Southwest region.
