2025 Recruiting - Football

Moving into the secsecsec looks like we will be recruiting the southeastern states much more than we did in the past. Looking at who all has offered the kids we are after, I notice that some of them hold offers from UNC. So it appears that we will be bumping heads with Mack Brown a bit more than we used to. Mack is a notoriously good recruiter & so is Sark. UNC is in the same league with Texas academically. It will be closer to home for some of these kids. It will be interesting to see how we do going head to head with UNC going after kids of mutual interest. I think we have more to offer football wise, but he has a very good package to offer in UNC & the state of North Carolina. And we all know, Mack is a damned good recruiter (+ he has momma Sally baking cookies for his kids).

This is a short term issue at best. Mack is 74 as I recall and he is packing on the pounds. Age and health obviously impact ones future but Mack was exceptional at Texas. I preferred the Will Muschamp approach of bust them in the mouth vs the glad hand approach of Mack but Mack had an impeccable record at Texas with 1 exception (ou). Sark is an excellent recruiter and appears to be equally moving with the recruits. I actually think Sark has a little edge in recruiting just from the interpersonal perspective but no loss on either side. Both appear to be great men and their players love them. Good problem to have for Texas!!!

Sark vs Mack:

Get the recruits to a game in Austin.

1) 105,000 vs 42,000

2) Rabid fans vs gonna go get another pretzel

3) above average comfort vs nowhere to put your feet if you wear larger than size 5

4) CDC's created gameday experience vs where's the basketball

He's only 72 (2 months younger than me).

legend,

In typical NCAA fashion, the cretins in Indianapolis are addressing a problem from 40+ years ago. "Let's punish them for free t-shirts in their rooms, teddy bears for their mothers and/or girlfriends. While we are at it, no fake newspapers with stories about them being the hero of the OU game. What? No, no, no, WE do NOT want to address the "furnished room" problems; keep that under the rug. But while we are talking just among ourselves, what did our study on that subject show recruits preferred - blondes, brunettes, or red heads?"
