2023 Softball Season

Softball roster has been updated. Seniors gone, Freshmen and transfers listed. 22 players listed on the team roster with only 1 Senior. And 5 commits coming in the recruiting class of 2023. Note that Haley Dolcini is listed as Graduate Assistant. She had stated that she would be hanging around the program until she gets her Masters. I assume at least a couple of years.

It was Baylea Brandon I saw helping toss t-shirts at the MN volleyball game. They don't have their pictures up for the newcomers, but seeing that roster jogged my memory that she was most likely the new face I didn't recognize.

Now, Morgan, Simpson, Czech. Who is 1, 2, and 3 in the pitching order?

I believe Citlaly Gutierrez will be in that top 3 rotation. She was the #1 pitcher for her Bombers travel team and I think she's going to bring some Moxie to the position from just watching her pitch in high school. We have 4 exceptional choices coming out of the bull pen. Better by far than what we have ever had.

You think this years pitching staff is better than last year? We have some great options especially with the addition of Mac Morgan. I’m just wondering who is going to be our next Dolcini. A workhorse who is reliable and consistent.

While Czech and Simpson will surely be improved and we add Gutierrez and Morgan, I agree that replacing Dolcini will be difficult if at all possible.

I definitely do not think this is the best bullpen we have ever had, Clark’s teams usually had pretty strong pitching.

We need to add a proven ace from the portal before I’d feel comfortable saying we had a championship contending staff.

Sure no indication we had any softball recruits at the game against Bama! Saw WBB and baseball had several recruits in the house. After viewing the great social media marketing job Vic Schaefer is doing with WBB I find it very frustrating that Mike Whites program has no visibility at all. I assume campus visits are taking place but who knows? Coach White has had 2 Great recruiting classes in 21 & 22. I guess we have to assume he knows what he’s doing. But as an avid fan who wants information and updates it sure is frustrating.

I was reading and went, "Wait! You mean this Saturday!?! During the Tech football game?" Argh!

And they can't push it to nighttime since that's the volleyball game vs. OU.
The game against Odessa is the only one that will be televised on LHN anyway, big bummer

Pretty good recap. The one I had to read over a bit to make sure I wasn't mistaken was the description of Goode:

She soon demonstrated her impressive speed on the base paths by hustling all the way around from second to score on a passed ball and boost the lead to 13-0.

I guess the coaches said, what the heck, let's just keep playing as it was supposed to only be 10 innings. I debated whether to go to softball or watch the Tech game on TV. I guess I chose poorly.

Sorry if I missed this, but do we just show up to the fall scheduled games? Is it general admission, or possibly even free?

Brilliant decision.....LoL. Except for us serious softball junkies who'd watch a group of 2 year olds attempt to play fastpitch, not worth watching that one.

Just walk in and sit wherever you want. In some years, when they decided not to offer concessions, you could bring your own lunch/dinner in with you!
