2023 Recruiting - Football

One of the LB targets (fallbacks?), Derion Gullette, didn’t make it in for the pool party. The Infamous “car trouble” excuse.

I’ll sound like Debbie Downer but it just
might be that until Sark & PK demonstrate that Texas can play defense, we may continue to miss on critical pieces, like Hill & Oshan Mathis. I’m not saying that we are missing on everyone, on that side of the ball. We aren’t. But the most critical area of need, edge rushers and linebackers, continue to be a big problem area.
 
Aggie has been missing out way more than hitting on these. I'm sure they're getting desperate and big money boosters will start emptying the bank going forward.

Nick Harris on Rivals just said he still likes his pick on Texas for Gullette despite everything that's happened this week and thinks that recruitment ends soon.

Its not Debbie Downer, its just a fact. Most everyone on here loves Texas but not everyone can be honest about how bad PK sucked last year. We had zero development on D last year and the same old tired excuse of not everyone bought in. I think thats lame. If players were not doing what was needed then we need coaches like Bo who will call out and also bench or kick off those who are not on the train. These kids all want to get to pro ball and I believe the competitive spirit should drive them all to do whatever it takes to win. Perhaps the liberal facade of of Austin has a much deeper impact to our kids but competitors GATA. I have posted before that PK is on a short leash and if it sucks again, look for he and Patterson to swap spots.
 
I have zero inside information but these waves of momentum towards Aggy don't just happen. It has to be NIL. Why would a great QB dump USC and Riley for college station? $$$

Nelson has not committed to ok has he?
If he did it would be for playing time because he's not going to beat out Caleb
 
I see Ewers as a mayfield type. Gutsy makes plays but also throws interceptions.
Hopefully will throw less interceptions.
But he has no experience so theres that.
I hope Card is ready and i hope he is being trained to get rid of the ball mo quicker

Wilson (florida)
Hale
Toviano long shot
Hicks long shot
Vasek
Hopefully we can get a good linebacker or two through the portal for '23
