2023 Football Schedule

If Texas beats OU in the CCG, and then play in the CFP, Texas will have to beat #2-5 ranked teams in the country to win it all (basically the top 5), assuming OU is ranked #5 and Bama is the team in the other CFP bracket that Texas doesn’t play.

ESPN says Horns have had the hardest strength of schedule this far.
No doubt the SoS for Texas is outstanding - going to Tuscaloosa to play has a big influence on SoS. And ou has benefitted from a very weak SoS - just the way scheduling worked out, with their game against Georgia being cancelled.

Horns are suspecible to a stinker. Among our remaining games, my biggest concerns are BYU, KSU both at DKR, @TCU. All 3 in a row in that order. Hopefully Hutson and Watts will be back by UH. Have not heard anything recent on Majors - maybe back by BYU?
YES^^^. Also, I would add ttu to that list of teams. ttu has a history of scoring lots of points and Horns have had trouble with them over the years. If we win out, and that is no easy task, the Horns would deserve a place in the final four, imo.

Texas opponents this year are now a combined 25-5 outside of their Texas games. This record takes a big hit playing Houston next week automatically adding 4 more immediate losses to the record (I'm guaranteeing a loss for them to WVU), but BYU will likely be 7-1 or 6-2 when we play them. This schedule is not for the faint of heart.

3-2 Rice
5-0 Bama
5-0 Wyoming
2-3 Baylor
5-0 Kansas
5-0 OU

After adding in the last two weeks, our opponents are 32-10 outside of their games against Texas.

4-2 Rice
6-0 Bama
5-1 Wyoming
3-3 Baylor
5-1 Kansas
6-0 OU
3-3 Houston

Remainder of the schedule. Only Tech with a losing record.

5-2 BYU
5-2 KSU
4-4 TCU
4-3 ISU
3-5 TTU

Wyoming lost a very close game against Air Force if I recall correctly.

They did 34-27. Air Force scored the winning TD with 2:31 left in the game and Air Force is 7-0.
Yes, sophisticated SoS calculations account for the teams that play your opponents. In this case, it would account for AFA beating Wyoming.

Heres hoping the suckass big12 commish gets a good sized crap sandwich on Friday! Also, thank goodness its the last time we have to play double t.
