2022 Recruiting - WBB

Texas wasn’t really in on her but #3 overall to Georgia? Wow.

Flau'jae sent a "congrats :e-muscle::e-muscle:" via IG to Barker. IMO, Georgia is one to watch for Flau'jae's eventual commitment. Flau'jae is from the Atlanta area and Georgia is one of Flau'jae's top 5 schools. She has yet to visit Georgia.

Janiah Barker is from Marrieta so she and Flau'jae likely know each other from the basketball circuit. Barker's commitment will legitimize Joni Taylor's sales pitch that they are putting the pieces together to be a top 10 program.

Flau'jae is enjoying the recruiting process but I won't be surprised to see her stick close to home and commit to UGA.

Regardless of where Flau'jae ends up, the SEC is going to be a fun a competitive conference.

I don't see her going to Florida (with no permanent head coach named yet). Would be surprised if it's Alabama. Baylor loses so many players after this season, and doesn't have any 2022 verbal commitments yet (so, who does she "bond" with in her own class?). That leads me to predict she'll sign with A&M.
Modifying my prediction for Littleage-Buggs from A&M to Baylor now that Gary Blair has announced he is retiring at the end of this season.

Apparently, Flau'jae Johnson will sign with LSU.

I'll be watching her progress from afar. I'm interested in how she's going to navigate the divided responsibility of her music career, basketball career and being a student athlete. (I would have the same concerns if she committed to Texas so this isn't "sour grapes" on my part.)

I'm happy to have an extra scholarship in our pocket for Mendleson or for a 2023 recruit.

Really good pick up for Mulkey. I think Johnson fits her style of play and will do well. Even with todays class, I still think that Texas is lacking that big, athletic, and versatile guard like Johnson and an anchor in the post at the center position. But with Lsu, if Mulkey can get Williams for the 2023 class she'll be on her way to competing with the likes of South Carolina.

yes...DMNews had a short write up and it was real close until the last few minutes. I dont remember any details but it was very close.

Your posts are informative. Would like to understand how we would fit a big, athletic guard into our team. We have Rori/Ashley at the 1 so I'm assuming you are talking about the 2. There we have Kyndall, Aaliyah, and (someone else?). What are we missing with them? In the front court I think Moore and Lattimore will be good. Abbie is coming but is an unknown at this point.
