2022 Recruiting - Football

Don't think anyone ever suggested Weigman was coming to Texas. He's been sold on A&M since he was in elementary school.

I am not saying that Harris won't be an Aggie, but the reason he didn't come to Austin yesterday is because NorthShore had a playoff game against Lake Travis yesterday afternoon in Round Rock.

Sorry, you ride to the game as a team & you ride home as a team. Northshore likely got back to east Harris County around 10 last night.

We lost 5 games to teams full of 3 star players this year. If you can play, come on...

We did and it's not like we don't have any highly sought after lineman on our roster. Here was our O-line depth chart this last year. I'll be honest and say I forgot how young our line was this year. Almost all of our experience was in the lowest rated players. Our highest rated players are still really young...and I hate the "youth" excuse but usually linemen take a bit more to develop.

First Team
RS JR Christian Jones 3 star
RS JR Junior Angilau 4 star
RS FR Jake Majors 4 star
RS SR Tope Imade 3 star
SR Derek Kerstetter 3 star

Second Team
RS FR Andrej Karic 4 star (listed at 2 different positions)
FR Hayden Conner 4 star
RS FR Logan Parr 4 star
RS SO Isaiah Hookfin 4 star

As bad as they were last season maybe the youth experience will start paying dividends soon with all of the new studs coming in.

True. Just a lot of insane rumors as we're down the stretch.
Harris did have his game yesterday and couldn't make any visits. Some mods felt that where ever he went to today ( us or aggie) would be his final choice.
IT and OB still holding out with fading confidence.
The next 2 1/2. days are going to be as crazy as anything we have ever witnessed.

And we have lost almost all our games in the last decade to a team full of 4 and 5 stars. I like the verified odds of getting 4 and 5 stars.
No doubt. And we have had our own 4 and 5*s not pan out here. Just saying I want to trust that coaches and dudes that evaluate players will never discount a kid that a recruiting service doesn't award a certain number of stars.

I'm hoping we found a bulldozer with this one.

Are you saying to expect another Hart Lee Dykes?

The one I referred to, could set things into a tailspin for lots of schools. I think everything is going to be ok, but they are rushing the health reports, which is never a good thing.

Cam is a huge pick up for us. He can play now but needs to increase muscle/reduce fat to be what he can be. At 6'7, and over 350, he just dominates the HS competition. Next level won't be like that. He'll have to work.

Portal question. When is a player who portals officially committed to the next program? I know that recruits sign a LOI, but what about players like Ewers? Do they also sign a LOI or must they actually enroll in a school.

Haven't seen this posted anywhere so putting it here.
A Texas icon. He showed espn, rivals , 24/7 how to cover recruiting.
Fell in love wit Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine from the first second I picked it up as a kid.
Thank you Dave.

I think they sign a letter saying the school is offering a scholarship but it’s not done until the student is enrolled.

When is Evers going to say where he will land
Right now, I feel let down about our “big weekend”

Glad to get two good OL commits, but our need is much, much more.

If the O-line plays out like indications suggest, even slow & old dukesteer could probably get to a YPG approaching 5 running behind them. That is, until he passes out after the first carry. Point being, this is looking like an extraordinary OL class.

But yes, we want Ewers…I think. But the subtle red flags do concern me.

I just read on 247 that one source says tomorrow...now, take that for what it's worth. I have read it everyday that it is either today or tomorrow.

He is supposed to make an announcement tomorrow.
We were never going to get a slew of recruits committing this weekend. The fact that we got Banks and Williams is a bit of a surprise ( except for a few people in the know). They were both expected to sign later.
This was about cementing relationships and confirming others. And by all accounts it was a success. The results will be evident this week.
Whatever else we need will come from the portal.
We also connected with some 23's to boot.

Tks for the update and all of your work to keep us informed.

LC,

Tell Nick Harris (whoever that is) that Ed Cunningham chose Texas football over UCLA basketball (not to mention the $500,000 annuity from Tom Osborne).

Unfortunately, we lost Ed too soon.

I am very happy with this weekend!
Wednesday can't get here fast enough.
I am hoping that Ewers announces tomorrow for the good guys so that others may be influenced to come here.
