I was at UT in the 70s and loved Austin. My son is currently a sophomore there and he also really likes it (especially now that he doesn't have to remain sequestered in his apartment). The city has changed, no doubt, and the traffic by all accounts is horrible. It still though has the music, culture, lakes, parks and University that make it a cool town. If Vic has issues with the traffic, a driver and comfortable backseat with wi-fi could fix that. As for the family aggyness, wife went to Arkie State and daughter to Miss. State. I say he ain't leaving.

The whole " his family are all gaggies " spiel is overated.
He knows this is a higher profile job, he will make more $$ than in gaggieville , he has a new arena to make his imprint in.
He can live in the arm pit collie station or in the Hill country. Hmm decisions decisions....
