I prefer to look at that as Conner performing well
He shows good agility and quickness, IMO
I agree Connor looks good, I just meant that the tape I’ve seen of Adeyele isn’t impressive to me. I wouldn’t mention if he hasn’t been throwing shade at us with his BS stats

You might be right about it all . I am just hoping I guess.
And who knows, one of our old OLs may end up the first on Mars some day, planting the flag

Yep.. he did.
But I couldn't help but wonder about a few recruits who may feel differently about the matter.
You feelin' me??
Either way, I expect this to have an immediate and positive effect on recruiting. Furthermore, I think he is being genuine, so props to him for killing two birds with one stone....smoove mensa move.

Three bowl victories in a row over favored opponents says a lot about finishing

Says to me that someone worked 3-4 weeks out of a four month season. If you win bowl games against favored opponents, what the hell are you doing losing to Maryland and other substandard teams?

Honestly I think a bunch of that falls on the shoulders of Tom and his death camp of 2-a-days.

Tom doesn't realize that rest is just as important as intensity in workouts. He just doesn't give his players time to recuperate and that has a lot to do with injuries. He needs to learn the art of peak performance. I think the biggest reason for his success in bowl games is the rest they get after a long season give the team time to heal.

It's funny, I used to ***** about Mack's teams lack of stamina where they lost games because they ran out of gas now I'm bitching about just the opposite.

See, the alternative is Texas keeps losing (I mean who is motivated for bowl games, right?) because the team collapses and does not believe in itself or there is no improvement during the season; i.e. - lessons are not learned.

Herman's bowl record is testimony to the success of this culture he has instilled. Or maybe you want to return the the later Mack years or the Charlie Strong era? Winning seasons are much better than losing seasons with losing or not appearing in bowl games. Being undefeated is damn tough in case some have forgotten.

For all the whining of the lightweight seasonal fans, progress has occurred from the drought the program was in before Herman took over. Texas was sinking for eight years before Herman reorganized the program. Now the task is to continue powering upstream.

“You can win them all if you’re good enough” - Cliff Gustafson

As for, being a “lightweight fan”, few if any on those on this board have had their season tickets as long as I have, and fewer still have missed fewer games.

Yes, we have been through a rough stretch, all of which falls at the feet of dumbass educrats like Bill Cunningham, Billy Powers, et al.

As I told Mackovic, “I was here when you got here, and I’ll be here when you’re gone, which won’t be soon enough for me”

I gave my full support to the hiring of Herman, but am impressed with neither on field results nor recruiting. My clock is ticking and the battery may run out in December.

Unfortunately, you may not realize your sense of self-entitlement and self-importance is not self-embellishing. Being an alumnus, I know that there is much more to UT than just sports. Sports are merely enjoyable sidelights to the University even in their worst seasons. Sports do not define the University beyond the sports pages.

But you are entitled to your underestimations and disappointed views. Unfortunately, life is filled with dourness and despair and disapproval for some. It is difficult to help those so self-burdened.

I hope you can find a new battery for your clock by December.

The Humidor on WR recruiting

With New Orleans native Casey Cain on deck, Texas still needs at least 2-3 more receivers. UT made Royce City's Ketron Jackson's Top 8, and even though there's still time, we're feeling the Fort Worth Frogs today. Three-star Floridian Jaden Alexis (Monarch - Pompano Beach, FL) still looks great, and the staff hasn't stopped pursuing Aledo's Jojo Earle and The Woodlands' Teddy Knox. A new name to follow is Kosciusko (MS) product Antonio Harmon. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound, four-star receiver has been in contact with the Texas staff for a few weeks now and the offer was heavily anticipated. Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Oregon, and Ole Miss have all thrown their hats in the ring. Harmon has slowly burst on the scene despite three seasons of varsity action and one hell of a career - 66 catches, 1278 yards, 16 total scores + 104 tackles, six forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, four tackles for loss, and three picks.

The Humidor on OL recruiting

With just Katy Taylor's Hayden Conner currently in the kitchen, UT's offensive line recruiting in this class isn't optimal. Missing out on Bellaire Episcopal’s Donovan Jackson, Richmond Foster's Reuben Fatheree, and Magnolia's Matthew Wykoff hasn’t helped. Texas is hanging around the rim for Katy Taylor's Bryce Foster and not looking good for Duncanville's Savion Byrd. What should be an ‘up cycle’ has been a downer so far. The fact Texas still looks square with the Brockermeyer twins (Fort Worth All Saints) provides hope for the position in 2021. One name to watch is Lakeview Centennial's Ezra Oyetade. The 6-foot-3, 285-pound center/guard prospect holds 20+ offers including Arizona State, Washington State, Virginia, Vanderbilt, and a handful of Ivy League institutions. Oyetade is a wide body who moves very well. He’d ideally fit at center, but obviously that’s James Brockermeyer’s scholarship if he wants it. However, Oyetade could have some ‘squatty bowling ball of butcher knives‘ to his game a la Dallas Warmack and be a solid back-up plan to Foster at guard. Highland Park's Jack Leyer is another name worth mentioning. He’s an offensive tackle in college all the way. He’d need seasoning, but noted chef Herb Hand should know how much of that to add.

WR Troy Stellato, Fort Lauderdale. Texas offered Stellato shortly after Mike Yurcich arrived in Austin, and the explosive athlete expressed interest in visiting Texas right away. Stellato is considering some of the elite schools in the nation, and Ohio State currently holds the 247Sports Crystal Ball lead. That said, there’s some optimism in Austin that Texas can become a player in this race with a good visit.

Stellato to Clemson
