I voted early yesterday--the first day. In the past, I have voted early for presidential elections. Whenever it's not a presidential election, I'll sometimes vote on election day. There were far more people than I've ever seen, especially for early voting. Probably 4-5 times the usual number, with very long lines out the door and down the sidewalk. I also went during a "down" hour--late morning, well before most people's lunch. The voting population I observed was dominated by senior citizens. Most of the remainder were late middle-aged. Definitely an older crowd hitting the polls early. The polling place was prepared and had more volunteers than usual. Further, most of the volunteers seemed a bit more competent and 'with it' than the usual election volunteer crowd (bless them). 6 feet social distancing was enforced (with an iron fist! just kidding ). No uniformed cops were present.

Also, interestingly, there were far fewer people pitching their candidates outside than normal.

It's been nice to know you, but you do realize that you're going to die from voting in person, via the Wuhan virus. That's what every Democrat has said for the past 3 months.

Amazingly, you can buy milk at the grocery store without fear of death, but at polling spot, its grim reaper time.

Went to vote here at library in Katy and line so long decided to come back tomorrow in am. Longest line I’ve ever seen in past 20 years.
Was long when I voted in 2016 (and a little in 2018) but not like this.

Nash will they let you vote more than once at the library, or do you have to vote and find another location for the next ballot?

Also, Katy cemeteries are so small, I may have a few extra names in Woodlawn & Memorial Oaks. Afraid to go to the Jewish cemetery on Post Oak.

Is your area conservative?

Wife did request mail ins’ for us so I will confess to the temptation of attempting both but ..........

Harris county reports Tuesday, Wednesday vote counts were both over 100,000. Sheesh. Seriously, that county needs to be audited after the mail in ballots are counted

Back to polls here just after 8 am and still looong lines outside library. Going to keep trying but may end up going with the crowd. I’ve waited 90 minutes before but this looks to be longer, lots longer.

I hope those are conservatives!

I think the blue districts are highly motivated to vote.

Free ride to the polls and free lunch makes it easier to get tehm there.

Also encouragement to "mailin" by handing ballot over to "worker" at their front door to take it to post office increases turnout.

I can see why blue districts are motivated.
Trump did so much for blacks whose votes Dems rely on they are afraid their usually reliable voters will leave the dem planation

Mrs. HHD and I just got back from voting. We voted at the Junior League on West Pioneer Parkway in Arlington (5 minutes from our home). Total time from start to finish was 40 minutes. Once we got inside the facility, they had three lines - two for general voting, one special area for handicapped. Since my wife is using a cane and I'm in a boot and on crutches, we got shuttled into the handicap voting area and were done very quickly.
I wish they had not done away with straight-ticket voting. It would have been much easier to hit "Republican" and be done with it; instead, I had to go through the entire ballot, step by step, to vote for the Republican in each race (including some where the Republican was unopposed).

Afraid to go to the Jewish cemetery on Post Oak.
Then here's a name you could cast an extra vote under:  RIP

Or perhaps: RIP

Have you already been over on Post Oak collecting names? If that's your private turf, I'll tell my people to move over to Westheimer.

Ha! I bet many of the current crop of poll workers have never even heard of Marvin Zindler or Ben Taub--all these newcomers from all over the country (and world)...

Voted at in my little town yesterday between 4-5PM. Took 10 minutes tops.

I think I saw Oprah Winfrey leaving just as I got there.

EXC: Biden Donor Group Sends 225,000+ Ballot Requests, Including for DEAD Citizens
The Center for Voter Information is responsible for sending over 225,000 ballot request forms to residents in Texas, many of whom are deceased.
“Kristen Link received four ballot request forms in the mail addressed to her husband, who passed away in 2015. Kristen thought the forms were sent by a government agency, but they came from a third-party group called the Center for Voter Information. The ballot applications are already filled out and addressed to the Bexar County Elections Administrator.”

The Dems are evil and scary. Is there any way to stop them?

No line at all here. Total time was less than 8 minutes. Normally there is only one or two check in tables but today there was eight. There were 20 booths to cast your ballot.

I will say it was really weird that the entire process is electronic yet I still had to use a paper ballot. Scan license, sign electronic verification, print paper ballot, put paper ballot in at the booth, make selections electronically, print paper ballot with selections, walk across the room and scan the paper ballot into a computer near the exit. Seems pretty stupid to me.
