2020 Recruiting - Football

RB Zach Evans is now the #1 overall player nationally per the 247 Composite
Zachary Evans, North Shore, Running Back
ps - aggy probably suspects its because the Composite thinks he will commit to Texas

LOL, how predictable was this?

Has Evans visited yet? Damn this would be a huge get for the Horns!
He is skipping Texas Jr Day to visit Clemson

Time to turn that frown into a smile
Clemson 247 saying Zach Evans will not be visiting them after all this weekend

There is the first Under Armour camp series in Texas on Sunday in Houston
Will be interesting to see if he shows up for that
I havent seen anything yet about him showing in Austin

FWIW, this is the current pic on the Texas 247 site

Wouldn’t it be great to get Evans committed early to the Horns and be the bell cow for the #1 class

Eric Nahlin of Inside Texas has a new piece out on the 2020s
Here is the part on the DLs

DEFENSIVE LINE: 4
Instate: It may not be the ideal class, simply because Arizona's Jason Harris is a monster, but UT could land four from instate and live happily ever after. Vernon "It's Already Been" Broughton is probably going to end up a five-star and UT is right there for his services. A&M has entered the picture and I'm still trying to figure out just how genuine of a threat the Ags are. I've written a ton about him and I don't think he goes far from home. He can play anywhere on the d-line. He's special.

Prince Dorbah would be the slicing, dicing, edge rusher for the class. He's seen as a Texas/Oklahoma battle. Recently he told a reporter that OU hasn't been recruiting him as hard since the hiring of Alex Grinch. I'd love to know the reasoning. My lone concern with Dorbah has been whether or not he's a fit for a three-man front. Texas has no such concerns so you shouldn't either.

Alfred Collins is a Longhorn legacy and the ideal 4i defensive end. He's explosive for the position but also has the desired length. UT looks good but he's another one where A&M is hanging around.

Princely Umanmielen is what I'm talking about when I say the staff prefers to grow their interior prospects. He's the T'Vondre Sweat of the class when it comes to fit and projection.

Out-of-state: Jason Harris from Arizona is visiting UT next weekend. Given UT's scheme I imagine the sell will be for B-backer in order to highlight his arc-running abilities. But land Broughton and Collins and the d-line is guaranteed to earn an "A" from me.

aggy is attacking the brother of Zach Evans again, calling him a 'bagman' and such. He is firing back. Bold strategy for aggy, we'll see if it pays off for them

I like the way you think!

I think there is a lot of pressure on Stan Drayton to succeed here, especially after his two big 5-star swings for the fences in 2018, only to come up empty on both. If he doesnt land Evans in 2019, then all the hype about him being some sort of RB-whisperer would seem to be misplaced.

Or maybe Herman blames himself for our current RB roster? We will see.

From the aggy screen shot above
“He’s a sip lock.”

I like this, it sounds like Zip-lock.

Got that recruit in the bag? He’s a sip-lock.

Might have been better to bring in the transfer OLs a different weekend? They wont get as much individual attention this way (one reason Braun moves his visit back (he sees it purely as a "business trip"). Or, maybe they will get caught up in all the fun and hype? As always, we will see.

I fell a sleep last night before I could finish reading this long list.

We are supposed to be leading for Prince Dorbah right now

Looks like both aggy and ou have backed off LB Brennon Scott. He was supposed to be in Austin this weekend but now wont make it

And Princely Umanmielen as of today is 6'4.5, 260
