2020 Recruiting - Football

By coincidence of timing, 247 gave WR Loic Fouonji of Midland Lee his fourth star today, the same day WR Omeire flipped to us.

As far as WR LV Bunkley-Shelton goes, there are 2 possible issues with him (1) a parent is super involved, and (2) potential clearinghouse

We were setting them both up to visit for Kansas. But I dont know about any of that now.

Princely Umanmielen tweeted this out

JF, do you think Evans to Athens?

UGA is the popular choice for now, but he is a guy who does unpredictable things. That tweet from him^ might have had something to do with recruiting, or high school, or maybe what he was going to have to eat.

Just a little snippet:
If I were the head coach I would be upset with my defensive coaches. I played defense in high school, I never let myself be blocked like those receivers that were blocking the dbs. Keep your arms extended at the blocker while you are running to the pathway you believe the ball carrier to be going. Don't let the blocker body up on you and prevent you from moving. You are not there to dance with the blocker but to attack the ball carrier. Common sense. Watching that almost makes me mad. But I am glad for Bijan.

“he is a guy who does unpredictable things”

You are very diplomatic.

Could be the DBs don't want to get off that block..Afraid of taking the runner on, so they "get blocked".

Growing pains, they are a talented bunch, they just need to grow up. Those of us that are old enough to remember some of our DB units in the past, we've seen this before.

When you start freshmen, even talented freshmen, they are going to have to grow into the position. Very few freshmen are both talented enough and savy enough to be good right out of the box. The Stingley kid from LSU is the exception not the rule.

I think Kelee Ringo will be another, hope we can get him.

Green's injury was taking a runner head on. Also blew through two blockers and shut down the back for a huge loss. Don't you put that evil on Green, Ricky Bobby!

We very clearly won the RB sweepstakes by pulling in Bijan Robinson instead of Zack Evans.

Evans may or may not equal Bijan in talent (I personally think not--but it's close), but his headcase dramatic antics would likely disrupt team unity.* IMHO, Evans is simply not worth the trouble.

* Imagine, if you will, Evans telling Coach Oscar Giles to "f@ck off." I don't think that would go over so well for Evans.
