2019 Recruiting - WBB

Lexi Gordon has played in 4 games for a total of 6 game minutes this season (1.5 minutes per game). Geno being Geno - only 7 players averaging double-digit minutes and the lowest of those 7 (Megan Walker at 17.8 min/gm) would probably be in single digits if not for Samuelson's injury.

Edit: Just checked and Walker was getting about 16-20 minutes when Samuelson was healthy so my assumption was incorrect.
When Lexi Gordon committed to UConn, they only had the verbal commitment from Andra Espinosa. Then, Coombs and Walker also committed. They all have similar size and skills (Coombs might be a couple inches shorter). All were ranked higher than Gordon; not surprised she isn't getting many minutes as it is a very deep roster at UConn this season; will be even deeper next season at the SG/SF position with Christyn Williams joining. Had always been of the opinion that Lexi might return to Texas before her 4 years at UConn are completed; so, she could end up being a package deal with her sister down the road if she decides to transfer. TCU could be a very good fit some day.

Anybody know if Myra Gordon is following sis to UCONN? I just assumed so but dont remember any recruiting news on her. I think she is a junior?)
Not committed at the moment. Based on the players UConn is supposedly after in 2020 and 2021, not sure Myra will fit into their plans. Geno doesn't strike me as the type of coach who gives someone a scholarship just because she has a sibling on the team.

I remember reading somewhere that Gordon's parents are TCU graduates.

Update;
I got a call from a buddy of mine he told me a Texas Coach was in attendance to watch Jordon Horston play. Said it was a male so my guess is coach Washington

Thanks for the info Oakman and for providing us links to write-ups about the games. It's great to have information on teams and players that we aren't privy to in Texas.

Oakman........are you going to the LIL game with Christ the King on Saturday? Number 16 (LIL) vs Number 14(CTK) in ESPN national poll. Duncanville is #4. If not, let us know how C Taylor does and who won.

Just got home from a long ride but it was worth it.
Was a great game from start to finish. Brenda Feese, Shea Ralph and a ton of other Division 1 coaches were on hand as well as Tina Charles who is a Christ The King Alum.
Christ The King won by two after Kendall Miller missed on a three pointer as the buzzer went off.
My assessments; only two players were high D1 Celeste Taylor and Natalija Marshall.
Marshall was solid had some good moments but for me when your 6”4’ playing in my opinion two D2 girls who are 5”10’ then you should dominate the paint and she didn’t do that. She finished with 12 points.
As far as Celeste Taylor watch the replay for yourself she was simply amazing she did it all tonight. Shot the 3 , her pull up was on fire, drove to the basket. Played D, rebounded. I did feel though in the 4th she could’ve been bit more selfish. She had a nice drive but instead of finishing she made the right pass to a teammate who missed the layup but when your a talent like her I would rather her finish.
I heard some of the coaches in attendance were saying they missed on Celeste. Great game in the lost.
Please feel free to watch the replay

Sorry just read what I wrote but I overheard a coach talking to other coaches she said we “Lost on Celeste” didn’t want to give the wrong perspective like these schools weren’t recruiting her because they were

Always love it when a player steps up against the best competition. Sounds like Celeste is that kind of player and you can never have too many of those.

Jordon Horston if off to a good start to her season. She is filling up the stat sheets. I haven’t been able to see her play since the summer but will when USA trials come around in May. I’ve been hearing her name a lot with Texas.
One name I’ve mentioned is Kylie Watson she is off to a great start as well I’m telling you she is a perfect fit for this team. 6’4” strong athletic and loves to run the floor. I haven’t heard any connections to Texas but would be wise to get in on this kid.
Buddy of mine was at tournament in Queens New York where Celeste Taylor played I’m waiting to hear from him on how she played

From the article,
Kylee scored more than 1,000 points for Belhaven Middle School in Linwood. She set Belhaven track and field records in the 400-meter dash (1 minute, 5 seconds), the 100 dash (12.8 seconds) and the 200 dash (28 seconds).
like height, it's hard to teach speed. Definitely someone to keep an eye on. :hookem2:

Are there any reports on Samantha Brunelle's season? Is she still the top recruit in 2019 class?

I saw tweets where Rickea has already taken unofficial visits to Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State (in addition to the recent visits to Tennessee and Louisville). Apparently, her Mom played hoops for the Kansas Jayhawks.

Hello all! Someone informed me about this forum and wanted to just give you facts about Jordan Horston. She is 6’2 in tennis shoes, But she runs the point some in Hs and is the PG in AAU, EYBL AllOhio. She just grew over the last two years. She lead USA u16 in assist playing on the wing and in the EYBL she lead the league in assist blocks steals and top 10 in defensive rebounds per WOLABasketball that did their stats. She is friends with all three of the girls mentioned Zia,Celeste, and Rickea and she is ranked 1pg in prospect nation number 3 player, and number 6 Espnhoopgurlz #3 guard but per her, she cares nothing about rankings. She just wants to join a great team with great players. I just wanted to give some facts and numbers that you may of been interested in. She still building on where she will fit best but she is off to a great season in HS at Africentric Early College and she lead her HS team to a State championship her freshman year. She is averaging 19 ppg right now and hit a career high in a game that she only played 2 quarters of 37 points. She naturally is a pg but due to height plays 1-3.Texas has been out to watch her practice and she is really considering all. I can provide you guys with updates as she makes a decision
