2019 Recruiting - WBB

Watching Celeste play for the Philadelphia Belles for the past few years and catching some high school games Celeste will be a combo guard at Texas so if Texas does get Rikea who I also seen play quite a few times will play the three while Celeste will play the two
IF Jackson comes to Texas, it will be interesting to see what positions Celeste and she play as I believe that Celeste is also quite capable of playing the SF position. I wonder if Rickea is more of a PF than a SF.

You have to look closely at what is or has happened I too was hearing Horston to Uconn but with the addition of Aubrey Griffin it would seem like Horston was not as good a fit any longer. Nobody I spoke to thought she would end up at Tennessee I thought if it weren’t Uconn it would be Ohio State shows you how much I know. As far as Cooke and Jackson Tennessee is as bad a fit as it gets for them it’s like purposely driving into a traffic jam Tennessee has an overflow of kids playing the exact positions both girls play. I would have to think whoever is advising these young ladies has pointed that out. Ohio State I feel would be a threat to land both of the girls. Horston is such a big and versatile talent she could fit on any team and play any position. With all that said I think Texas will land if not both then one of the two between Cooke and Jackson
Based on my recollection, Aubrey kept listing Louisville and UConn as her leaders even though she had not yet visited UConn and did not have a scholarship offer from Geno. I forget when she finally got the offer and visited, but my guess would be that Griffin got the offer because Horston informed Geno that she would be committing elsewhere. I could be wrong though in my timeline.

Hope you are right that we get one of both of Jackson and Cooke. Is that just your guess, or are you hearing something from someone close to the situation?

Besides it being my feeling & it making basketball sense which as you can see how good that was I had Horston going to another school. From what I was told is both girls sincerely like Texas so that’s why I give a 50% chance of getting one of the two. Griffin has always wanted to play at Uconn us in the east coast who follow know she has wanted to play there since she was young. From everyone I talked to Horston made her decision after Griffin committed now that doesn’t mean Griffin was the reason she didn’t choose Uconn because like I stated earlier she is one of those special players that doesn’t matter who’s on the roster she can play anywhere at an elite level but still wouldn’t be as good a fit with those two on the same roster so good decision for Horston not playing for Geno

Recruiting schedules don't always go as planned. In the event that Zia Cooke commits to Tennessee before 10/19, perhaps that changes the status of Endyia's offer from the Lady Vols, and she doesn't make the visit.

USC picked up a verbal commitment from a PG a few weeks ago; so, always a chance that has an impact on Endyia's scheduled official visit (even though nothing public has come from her camp about USC's current involvement with her).

USC got another 2019 PG Wednesday...

I have been thinking, "Man, this year is S-L-O-W" in terms of recruits deciding where they want to go. Then, I saw this:

I think the fact that the Longhorns are waiting on at least 3 to declare is the reason it seems to be dragging on (for me anyway). Last year Texas pretty much had their class as of September when Charli flipped - Shae was a surprise late addition. This year with 5 open scholarships for next season and only 1 commit this close to signing day is something we’re not accustomed to.

Miss. State gets fourth verbal commitment. Not sure how many slots they have open, but still involved with Endyia, Rickea, Zia, and Maori Davenport.

I really hope this tweet applies to this thread...

I hope so, too; but, that site doesn't seem to provide any recruiting news.

I know we haven't received any news since Celeste's commitment, but I recall when our coaches (or TexasWBB) would retweet or like tweets related to our recruiting targets. Does that still happen?

I recall when Coach A would tease us with certain tweets (which although might have been construed about as about recruiting news, but never were, IIRC).

Forget what the last "big news coming" tweet was that Coach A tweeted last season, but I believe it ended up having nothing to do with recruiting. Anyone recall what it ended up being about?

The biggest non-recruiting teases from Karen I can remember were related to assistant coaching hires (Tina then Tiff).

I’m not sure if this is even recruiting related - can’t find any kind of commitment announcement but...

Hopefully, she's not referring to Celeste Taylor (simply because she is on her official visit) who has been in the fold for quite a while.

She used to tweet the same hashtag as Charlie Strong as a way of hinting at a new verbal commitment; but, don't think it was #boom. Forget what it was that Strong used.

The #onemore is the team motto, isn't it?

I think it was #letsride. Onemore is the team motto this year but the tweet seems intentionally vague - typical for tweets about recruits who have yet to sign. Highly likely it’s just my desire for some good news this week.
