2019 Recruiting - WBB

Regarding recruiting for the classes of 2019 and 2020, if I were a player I would have second thoughts about considering A&M. As anyone who follows WBB very closely knows, their team this year has been dominated by Chennedy Carter. Yea, she's very good, but she is also a point guard who looks to win the game mainly by herself. It has worked out pretty well. (I just watched them eke out the game with Depaul). I guess Blair figured that was his best way to win this year. I can't see Carter changing her game to help other good players coming in get in on the action. Maybe for a 2020 player like Merritt, it wouldn't matter that much since she would be a freshman when Carter is a senior, but for 2019 players, that would be 2 years of probably not getting many passes from Carter. Blair seems to have cast his lot with her playing this way, for better or worse. Maybe it won't affect his recruiting, but it might.
The Recee Caldwell syndrome. Except that Carter is a more prolific scorer than Caldwell.

I heard a lot of rumors going around at the final four.
I expect the Longhorns to make a big splash in the 19 class
I don’t like giving names in this situation because families or kids haven’t put anything out but if what I hear is true this board will be lit up

I believe Class of 2019 recruits are allowed to begin taking official visits this coming weekend. Not sure we've ever received an official visit from a junior since this rule was implemented a couple of years ago.

Or, is that a quiet/period? I may have the dates wrong.

Shemera sounds just like the kind of player Texas is looking for: multidimensional on offense, scores, rebs and gets teammates involved. Wish they had said something about her defense. Although with that kind of athletic ability, defense should be just fine.

The invites went out from USA Basketball for the U17 tryouts. There are many familiar names from the 2019-2021 recruiting classes that will compete for the 12 roster spots. The tryouts are May 24th-28th.

Some of the invitees include, Celeste Taylor, Haley Jones, Jordon Horston, Rickea Jackson, Sarah Andrews, Jordyn Merritt, Hannah Gusters, Sasha Goforth, Ashten Preshtel, Caitlin Clarke and Kylee Watson.

Was hoping we'd get more confirmations (tweets) about our coaches and in-home visits. Summary of those we know:

- Jaden Owens
- Haley Jones
- Celeste Taylor

Did I miss anyone?

Prior to the start of the official visit period, Karen attended one of Jordon Horston's games. Of course she wasn't allowed to talk to her or her family. Although this wasn't an official in-home visit, it was one of the rare confirmations we have of Karen visiting a recruit.

Karen always seems to have a surprise or two up her sleeve when it comes to recruiting.
