2019 Recruiting - Football

Wow, this sucks. Also sucks seeing Garret Wilson make a huge catch for a TD and know we whiffed on a great receiver in our own back yard.

If you saw our colors on the sidelines today, it was Sterns. Here with JWhitt

He looked good, as did 5-star WR Haselwood (#13 overall player) who will be joining 5-star QB Rattler at ou. Oh and they got 5-star WR Theo Wease from Allen too. Those are their 3 five-stars. We had none (although Jake might get a 5th star and Whittington should).

Please LJH, give us some good news.

One of my recruiting theories is that Lincoln Riley is so "John Mackovic" that he'll have trouble assembling any defenses in the near future that'll help him get over the hump in the CFP. As of right now, looking at Rivals, of his 8 recruits ranking 5.9 or better, 6 are on the offensive side of the ball and 2 are DB's. The ratio seems skewed....

Haselwood moved ou above aggy in the team rankings

While I agree Wilson is more of an Ohio guy I was speaking of top talent in general. There are 18 players from Texas in the top 100 composite rankings. We have 2. 8 or 9 of those left the state. Theres probably double that in the top 300. Big names we missed on. These kids were 8-9 years old when Texas had a good football team. Like I said. We just need to keep winning and it will change. I think it starts with Clout 2020.

The #1 ranked JUCO LB decommitted from little ut today -- Lakia Henry. His most recent follow on Twitter is Ehlinger. Just sayin

So apparently the deal with Henry/Tenn had to do with some odd SEC math requirement for JUCOs. We do not have the same rule which is part of the story of how we landed Gary Johnson. If this is indeed what happened with Henry, then it means he is not gong to Piglet either. FSU is the other rumored team now.

McCoy --

“It wasn’t an easy decision at all and it really went down to the wire. I decided on USC a few weeks ago and making the calls to the coaches was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. It was tough for sure but end of the day, I felt like USC was where I belonged and where I can have the most long term success on and off the field.”

Apparently, if USC had fired Helton he would have come here

Maybe wishful thinking but I agree with this to a degree. They have had the best passing statistics in CFB history the last two years. Only way to go is down.
