2017 Texas Bowl - Texas v. Missouri on Dec. 27

You mean we would be even more craptastic the last 4 years without those guys? I like our odds without those clowns and maybe some hungry guys wanting to prove themselves.

The team has three weeks to prepare. The backups need to show us something. Hell, I’m still waiting for the O to show us something!

If it weren't for gambling (betting and fantasy leagues), nobody would watch the majority of these crap bowls or most NFL games. The NCAA, tv networks and Goodell should send the bookies Christmas turkeys.

The bowl is like any other game on the schedule, in that it is a must win game. . the spotlight is there, with no other competing games. We haven't won a bowl game since Oregon St. so hopefully they kick butt. If we win I'll be happy.

I'm trying to stay generally positive but after that late game loss to Tech I'm about as excited about this bowl game as a warm glass of buttermilk....

and a glass of warm buttermilk would probably make me hurl.

Metrorail

aka, the expert train, thus named because the only people riding it are the expert witnesses going from the Texas Medical Center to the law firms.

What a huge waste of money. Thus far, all it has done is block traffic, cause wrecks, and injure/kill people.

Suspect Godz40Acres is in the bunker now conducting his scouting skullduggery on Mizzou.... hopefully we get it before Christmas.

Not really I’m a cotton bowl season ticket holder we go every year and end up watching just about all the others at hooters right up the street from jerrys world

On Wednesday's the last train leaves around 11:30pm. Game time is 8pm so when was the last time Texas played a game in 3 hours or less (especially with a long halftime)?

If you’re going to the game, this is by far the best parking option. I did this in 2014 & it worked very well. I got curious on the game time. So, looked up the stats...KO was 8:05 & ended @ 11:20. I recall leaving the game early & catching the train....yea, who could stomach that nightmare!! Perhaps they will add trains for this game. It may not matter if we bring our recycled game plan that night!!

You have got to be kidding me. It's Metro, the nation's largest unconstitutional money grab. (Humble should have never dropped their lawsuit.) Were you around for the Astros victory parade. People waiting at Reliant for 4+ hours and never getting on a train?

Metro, created by bureaucrats, run by bureaucrats for bureaucrats, paid for by the visitors to the SMSA and taxpayers.

For the past three years, we as fans would have been happy with any progress in the program (including a second-tier bowl game). I'm thinking Tom does have the program headed upward - but it's a process, not an event. A little patience would be in order - and enjoy the journey, even when it includes a lower-tier bowl game.

Whoa Sabre!! Didn’t mean to kick the beehive!! Hey, you won’t find a more ‘constitutional conservative’ than me. I get your comments. Was just saying the metro ride to/from the game worked well for me in 2014. The other options are getting raped with their outrageous parking charges, then tolerating the entry/exit nightmare. I always look for the path-of-least-resistance balanced with cost. But to your point, I’m just as passionate about free enterprise (capitalist) solutions to EVERYTHING!!! But my view is awfully lonely living here in Austin, TX! :usa::bevo:

We use Metrorail for the Rodeo, Astro's games and other events and find it very convenient.
As for the Astro's parade NO ONE could have anticipated 700,000+ people jamming downtown.

There are places you can park for free that aren't to far to walk. I know them because I used to live close to NRG, but they aren't that hard to find.

Me likey that idea! As much as I REALLY don't want to go, my UT senior student daughter is already making plans....I'll grin and bear it for one last game. Feel really bad for her. She bleeds serious orange, but was born in the wrong year....her 4 years at UT have to be the worst in Longhorn football history!!

My advice to those that consider using the train is to use the park n ride at Greenbriar & OST/Braes Bayou. There is a small charge for parking there, but the train stops there and it is a couple of blocks to Reliant. If the train isn't running after the game, it's a couple of blocks up North Stadium Drive, which is preferable to Fannin.

UCF just named Josh Heupel as their new HC
Which means Missouri will be without their OC for our bowl game
