2016 recruiting

Thanks. However, Jusme828's comments seem more like opinion or a guess. For those who follow recruiting, I was curious if she visited Texas or if we knew Texas offered her a scholarship. No big deal...I was just curious.

She did visit back during early football season. Not sure if she was offered, but I had assumed she was. And, yes, my post was just an opinion as it says.

great story on Alecia. Can't wait to see her in Burnt Orange. Huge for her that her father is moving to Austin.

This is very good, wish there were a tape of the game. In the MacDonald's game she was tremendously impressive in the first quarter, then didn't stand out much in second half---which was dominated by intergalactic three point shooting by Ionescu and Ramirez. But nobody really guards you in these all star games, so the guards tend to run wild and score way more than inside players. But Holmes still looked powerful, fast, with good passing and a good looking shot----as is confirmed by her award in this game. With our maturing guards and the incoming players Texas is going to have real fire power next year. Lots of fire power. Lots.

Holmes is.just what our team needs: A tremendously talented big wiho can face up, stretch the D, create off the bounce, and rebound-n-run. She is like a turbo jet up and down the court -- looking effortless. Can't wait to watch her develop under Tina Thompson!

Another twist in the recruitment of Sabrina Ionescu. After eliminating Texas from her final 3 in the fall, she was down to Oregon State and Cal. As of tonight? OSU and Cal are both out and her final 2 are Oregon and Washington. Letting her twin brother walk-on at Oregon seems to paying off and Washington's improbable run in the tourney is producing dividends as well.

Well good Lord as many scholarships are available for our men's team, surely we could offer he brother a scholarship!!!

Corsaro was underwhelming in the McD All-star game. Don't know much about her otherwise.

Corsaro is a very good player, she's a skilled perimeter player with size that can shoot the ball well from the perimeter. Texas only has one scholarship available which was from Sara. They could use both players but I would take Jatarie White because Texas needs a true center after Kelsey Lang graduates to complement the forwards that will be on the roster.

What about Chatrice White from Illinois? Anyone have any update on the one Big 12 school she was interested in? We need a Big girl to replace Kelsey in 2017-18. Not a guard.

Chatrice White visited Notre Dame and Louisville shortly after she announced her transfer from Illinois; that was like a couple of weeks ago. Louisville just announced a transfer addition, so it appears they are out of spots. No other updates on any visits for Chatrice.

kinda wondering whether to put this here or in the transfer thread since it could be in either:
ESPN on Corsaro—fascinating story.

Now this is the kind of player that will pay attention at film study. :smile1: Plus she is supposed to be an outstanding 3pt shooter and has a 4.5 GPA, both qualities that will fit well at Texas. We have been looking for a 3pt shooter in this class.
Corsaro did more than watch -- for about 90 minutes, she sat in Benge's office and broke down the tendencies of each Mater Dei player, whether they were right-handed or left-handed and what type of offensive sets and defensive packages the team used…."She broke down the tape better than any coach I've ever had," Benge said. "We ended up beating Mater Dei by double figures."

Corsaro sounds about perfect. I hope we have a good chance. Pump faking and drawing fouls are pretty advanced skills. She and Jamie might hit it off -- both seem like passionate students of the game. Of course, I know that applies to the whole coaching staff and probably all the team members.

Would not be surprised if Texas did not offer Corsaro. Should know soon.

She's not coming here, judging by this quote from Indystar story:

"Corsaro, who was the runner-up for IndyStar Indiana Miss Basketball, took an official visit to UCLA last weekend. She’s considering UCLA, Michigan and Indiana. Corsaro had also considered Baylor, Tennessee, Texas and Washington after she reopened her recruitment."
