Just a hunch...I think we wind up with one of the out-of-state d-backs we're going after, but I don't think we'll know which one until sometime this summer.
I'm thinking 2 DBs from out of state, a safety and a CB. Of the ones we are after, I think the most likely are Cole Luke and Marcell Harris and perhaps Stanvon Taylor, who is rated a little lower.
There is no ceiling to this staffs recruiting if we could start playing like a team thats full of blue chip talent. On the other hand, should we play next yr like the beast we want to be, Manny probably wont be around to recruit for us in the aftermath..
Could it be that what looks like the recruits putting off their decisions be actually the school waiting to see what attrition will bring?
Mack said that Texas has 63 players on scholarship presently, with 22 more expected by fall. He says they have 10 seniors. Seems with the 12 (13) commitments already they are just about (over?) full on the 85 allowed. 2 doesn't seem like an overreach of injuries (I hope not), transfers (4th at a position at Texas vs possibly starting at another school), grades problems, discipline or (I hope not) legal problems. Early outs (I hope not). But can anyone predict 8 (9) of those? I know without a doubt that Mack is a lot more up on this than I am and probably a lot more than the "sources" that I use (mainly you guys). I just wonder if what we are seeing with the 6 outstanding offers is the a wait and see attitude from the school rather than on the part of the possible signees.
What about OLB Jermaine Grace from Florida? Rivals has shown him having an offer from Texas for a week or so, I believe. ESPN & Scout do not show an offer. There seems to be a lot of discrepancies between recruiting sites regarding Grace's offers.
