2008 WNBA Draft

Atunrase will definitley be drafted...doubtful that Bailey and Franklin. Bailey doesn't have enough offensive skill and Franklin may be too small.

Interesting. I found three mock drafts here: The Link 2 of them list both Atunrase and Franklin, but the other only lists Franklin. We'll see how it goes when it starts at 12 pm.

update:
Atunrase picked by Atlanta Dream at #24 (later traded to San Antonio Silver Stars) and Franklin chosen by Sacramento Monarchs at #38.

LA picked up Parker and Bobbitt from Tennessee, as well as Zoll from Virginia. Add those with Lisa Leslie returning and they should be hard to beat this year.

Phoenix has a great addition with Pringle from NC. She will fit into that system very well.

Wonder if Ebay is thinking of playing pro ball? While her offensive skills improved this season, it's her defense that will make her a valuable addition. She's just starting to find her offensive game. Overseas may be a good option if she wants to continue to play.

Tenn had their entire starting five drafted. Pretty darned impressive.

I'll bet that's never happened before! Which made me wonder who's on the Tennessee roster who will be returning next year. Now I realize that Tennessee doesn't rebuild, they reload, but they will have a relatively inexperienced lineup next year. Impressive athletes all, I'm sure, but only six returning and three of the six are freshmen. Speaking of reloading, their recruits, according to Hoopgurlz, are ranked #3, 4, 8, 15 and 20. players.

What's funny to me is that the #1 class of a few years ago that included Parker...lost Sade Wiley-Gatewood to Maryland because she 'couldn't play her game at UT' and Sybil Dosty to Arizona State, and STILL won two national championships (although Bobbitt and Auguste were JC players).

And I think anytime one of your bench players gets drafted, you know you're bad.
