Very nice. Reminds me of when Gilbert committed early before the first Junior Day. This guy is legit, couid be a top 100 type guy with offers from Bama, aggy, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Nebraska,Tennessee
Welcome Brewer! Davis is still on the radar but I wonder with all the supposed baggage whether we will chance it with him or not. What does this mean for McCoy part 2 and Wood?
After watching the film, his pocket presence (drop back, delivery, stature, composure) reminds me a lot of Bradford. Looks a lot more athletic than him once he breaks the pocket though. Great first pick up for 2012.
Davis had a pretty significant injury this year and his senior year is going to test how he holds up. Also, numerous people such as the Jesus and BB have stated numerous times he might have some "handler" issues to the likes of what we saw from Alexander but that issue may be settled with time. The main case is the injury and how it is going to affect his play. Plus, he is a dual threat QB which we seem to be getting away from now. He might turn into more of a Chiles situation if we do land him.
In reference to Case and Connor (and Ash), we now have 4 QBs and one more on the way next signing day. GG will be a junior, Case a sophmore, Connor a RS Freshman, and Ash is still up in the air. The years of eligibility make a bottle neck of buildup at the QB spot. Add Davis and that makes 6 at one time in 2012. What I am hinting at is that someone will likely transfer but who it will be is up in the air. Brewer will likely RS unless he comes in a blows everyone else away...same goes for Davis. After they redshirt, that still makes 6 QBs in 2013 in nobody transfers. I don't get paid the big bucks to make the shirt/roster decisions however and I am sure they have some sort of plan...should be interesting to see. I'm happy either way.
I realize it's only HS ball, but he has a pretty quick release, he looks off the defenders, gives a lot of pump fakes, and lastly, he's got good scrambling ability. If he can bring all of that to Texas, he's gonna do great here.
For a Junior QB that kid looks very good to me. He has a noticeable confidence when he decides and the receiver and lets it go. Sometimes that's hard to notice, but you can see it with him. Look like he is in control of his game. But mostly, great arm. About the 1:02 mark he hums one without really planting or stepping into (kinda weight on back foot), and hits a strike between 2 defenders 35 yards downfield. That was all arm. Very nice...exciting prospect.
