18th commit is....

Nick Jordan

He will be needed to replace Senior Justin Tucker on the roster in 2012 and compete with Will Russ. They are the only P/PK listed on the current roster ... no nonscholarship P/PKs at all right now.

Man in that practice vid he's money from the 50.

Would like to have seen him kick those FGs with a holder, cause its different, see how different it would be for him. Otherwise great leg strength.

i am always surprised kickers/punters are not more highly recruited. I guess they are usually less than "sure things", but considering how place kicking and punting are such integral parts of the game it is odd.

I think back to Aggy and Shane Lechler. That dude would keep Aggy, with a terrible offense, in the game by always pinning the opponent back and never allowing the other team good field position.

I'm totally perplexed by this move, especially during a year where ships are extremely tight. Kendall Sanders has to be scratching his head right now wondering how the f this kid got an offer and he didn't. I know I am.

I'm sure he's a great kicker and can add value, but field goals don't mean much when you're chasing touchdown(s) deficits. Guess I think we have bigger needs to fill than a kicker with the few scholarships we have left.

It's been a little while now since we've had kicker problems. I remember that Mangum had to step in as a freshman because it was so bad at the beginning of 2001. We've been spoiled for quite some times. That's why we use a 'ship on it... so that we can continue being spoiled.

Punter, on the other hand, hasn't seemed to work well as long as Mack's been here. Stockton was good at double duty, but I can't think of another guy on any team since 1998 that would even be considered an "honorable mention conference team" type punter.

man, that dude has a leg.  he looks like a kicking shipley.

welcome to the 40, nick.  you're gonna love it, and we look forward to your help.

hey, i want a rule change.  2pts for kick offs through the uprights.

Have you guys seen his video yet? Dude, that's ILLEGAL. He needs to register his right leg with the ATF!!!

I'm with Mack on this one. There's no player in the nation that can tackle the opponent's KR man at the 20 yard line each and every kick-off. That's what Nick is gonna do for us with that leg, because nobody's gonna leave the end zone.

Welcome aboard Nick!

Kickers are fairly notorious for being flaky. They kinda come and then they go which is why the pros recruit from bars. Didn't watch the video and I'll take everyone's word that the kid has made some great kicks, but I don't think I'd burn a scholarship in June on a kicker. ANY kicker.

Not meant as a slight on the young man. Meant as a slight on the old ones.

Sometimes a game is won or lost by a field goal, an extra point or a punt. If a player is likely to be an all conference kicker, then he's worth a scholarship. Sometime QB, OTs and TEs don't work out. That's why you recruit one or two every year. We can stand two scholarship kickers on the roster for a year or two.

We've got plenty of 4* position players who haven't done a thing. Give me anyone who can make an impact at his position.

I wasn't surprised, but it did raise and eyebrow... until I read that Hunter Lawrence is a Senior this year which would have left 1 kicker on scholarship in 2012! Looks like a great kid... way to go Mack.
