14-0 in 08 ?

"One game at a time.

IMO, Texas, if they stay healthy, is a 1 to 2 loss team with a RB that steps up in a big way. I look for the OL and defense to be much improved."

I approve of TexasGolf post above and agree 100%! I'll add on to that that the coaching will be much improved as well.

Factor in loss to someone we shouldn't and what about aggy . Stat that could be 5 . Just do not know what team will take the field . k

I am also scared of Tech at night(?) in Lubbock. The good news is they come off of games at aggie and at Kansas the two weeks before. That is a damn hard stretch to finish. Lets hope our seondary has had time to develop by then and that Henry Melton is as good as projected at getting to the QB.

Early prediction from down here is 10-2 regular season and a win in the Gator Bowl.

Really think 2009 is our next real shot at BCS glory.

I think 10-3 or 11-2 is realistic. I see 2-3 losses between OU, Tech, Mizzou, KU, & Aggy. We have too much inexperience on both lines and backfields to do any better, imo. I agree with an above poster who stated that in 2009 will be the year we can expect something great.

Unless there are some real surprises out there, I think Texas has to way overachieve to get to ten wins this coming season. This could be the toughest year of Mack's decade in Austin.

again, this will be up to our defense. in most of our losses in recent years, it has been because our defense could not stop the other team. if we have a defense that rises up to its talent level, we should not give up more than 14 points per game. our offense has avg.'d about 35 points per year over the last decade.

Has the team been working on their focusness fundamentals? If not, a 0 - 14 record isn't out of the realm of possibilities !

You have heard of tackling dummy's, right? Well, there is a company in Sinton, Tx that makes a Focus Dummy. It increases focusness. I am not concerned now about this teams focus.

I see 11-2 maybe 10-3 with a BCS or bowl loss. I would love to be wrong and see something much better and it is possible.

I have a question for everyone. How have you done in the past with preseason predictions for the Horns for the regular season? Are you typically too aggressive or too conservative or fairly close to what actually happened?

FYI- KU is TERRIBLE. They might be the biggest celebration of mediocrity ever. Mizzou is average, at best. We are going to beat their ***. I am not saying we'll be undefeated, but we sure as hell are not going to lose to either of those two *** clowns.

KU plays at South Fla. in non-con which could easily be an early loss. Their conference sked could also easily be a losing one.

There has been a HornFans poster correctly pick the season record in every single pre-season prediction thread each year.
Not the same poster, of course.

I think one thing is going to be a given. WE play better D! Having said that, it should give us a chance in every game. I don't know if I can go the 14-0 deal though. If it happens, I will be on the train big time with all the rest of you!
