interesting classical list. I don't automatically put the names with the pieces, so I will listen to many of those.

noticed a few we played in high school and college that really impressed me. When I go back and listen to, I bet I run into a bunch that we played pieces of.

We did play Finale from New World Symphony(no. 9) by Dvorak. It's a good tough piece for a high school band to play, and we also played parts of Carmina Burana in marching band of all places.

I think one of our directors saw a corps unit do that so he copied their show.

As a 5th grader I sang in the Austin Boys Choir when the Vienna Choir Boys came to the U.S., we sang Gustav Mahler's 8th Symphony- that's not on your list, and I honestly don't remember anything about it other than the thing took forever to finish. I think it lasted over 2 hours, not sure.

That was a big production it seemed like, there was an adult chorus, the two boys choirs, probably the Austin Symphony Orchestra, etc.

The Mahler 8th is awesome. It is a tour de force of choral and orchestral sound. The Solti recording with the Chicago Symphony is really good.

I seem to recall being told that the Austin Symphony did the Mahler 8th around 1988 or so.
