TD LJH!

Mike Adams.
Could be argued he belongs on the Mt. Rushmore of longhorn receivers. His flirtation with UH during his recruitment I’m sure is an interesting story.

Corby Robertson.
All-American linebacker on our 1967 team who did even better after graduation. Voted #9 on 247’s list of top ten all-time linebackers on the 40.

Sorry, I’m trying to find out what happened to the pic.
Can somebody give a brother a hand?

Maurice Doke. All-American linebacker, Rhodes Scholar candidate, youngest member of the Texas House at the time of his election IIRC.
Another player who represented the 40 well post-gridiron.

Wide receiver Lovell Pinkney.
Along with Eric Metcalf one of the best players recruited from the D.C. area. At 6’5” 245 lbs. he was Collin Johnson before Collin Johnson was born.

p.s.: I wish he had played against Rice in ‘94. Might have improved my evening.

Also needed to make sure this person was mentioned:

Bill Zapalac. Co-Captain of the 1970 National Championship team. Academic All-American. Men’s Hall of Honor Class of 2011.

Re: Metcalf--I had thought Metcalf was from Washington State not D.C.

I see. I looked it up, and he has an interesting background. Apparently, Metcalf was born in Seattle, coached HS FB and track in Seattle, coached track at UW in Seattle, and still lives in Seattle, though he went to HS in Virginia near Washington, DC. I guess you could say he's the rare double-Washington person (State and DC).

"Terry Metcalf was only 16 when Eric was born. He’d met his girlfriend, Christina Jefferson, in high school in Seattle. They never married, but remained friends and shared in the raising of Eric, who moved across the country from an all-boys school in Seattle to Virginia, where his dad was finishing up his pro career with a one-year stint with the Washington Redskins."
