1 star reviews for business of father whose son transferred

Oh, I did. I was just having fun. It seems there were 19 or so negative comments. I was able to look up two of them that someone had got on a screenshot. One is from cincy and is a Miaimi Ohio fan and another is from Louisiana but goes to Stanford. They were done on google so you have to have an identity or at least jump through the hoops to mirror someone to leave a ****** review.

You'll see that I said it was aggy behavior and a ****** thing to do.
An OU fan from Louisiana and in school at Stanford. Naw. That dog don’t hunt. Put the bottle down.
OU fan at Stanford? Then you tell me he is swamp rat!

Nothing on the kids socials are Oklahoma related. I tried to drill down into some and was successful a few times. It appeared to be about 1/2 identifiable OU fans and half appeared to be fans of other schools. Louisiana kid class of ‘26 at Stanford. He could be an OU fan. But there was nothing there.

You have made the claim that OU's venture to the SEC is near suicide for their program. I can see your argument and I think there is merit to it, but I have a hard time imagining that OU will fall that far behind. It's a bold prediction for sure.

So car beat Texas in 1957

Vanderbilt last beat Texas in 1928. Interesting that most of our games vs vandy were played in dallas

I will argue i suspect Vandy was a bit of powerhouse in the years they beat UT.

The good news, UT is going to start to put a serious dent in the 3-8 record vs Vandy !!

If venables recruiting classes were poor or we were losing a lot in the portal I might agree. He had the two best OU recruiting classes in a long time and got some SEC level DL over the last two years. The only player that we lost in the portal that was not a surprise was caused green and he started 7 games partially due to injury. We also have a future Butkus finalist and Thorpe finalist returning (predictions). Both would have been drafted. Plus two other defensive line rotators who are using their covid year.

Things are trending in a positive way.

You lost Dillon Gabriel to the portal. Your last two starting QBs transfered OUT. Think about that. Two heisman candidate quality QBs chose to leave ou to play elsewhere. I've Never seen anything like that before to be honest

You lost a head coach, some asst coaches, a shitload of players to another program 2 yrs ago. One of those players won a heisman. This, after ou announced it was sec bound. The big leagues of college football

The future is written. Ou is headed in the wrong direction whether people want to believe it or not. It's happening. Give nebraska, Colorado and Arkansas a hug. Mediocrity awaits

Rumors of OUs demise have been greatly exaggerated.

I thought the Venerables selection was not a good choice, but he really surprised me this year. They seem to pull in a good class almost every year as they did this year. So I expect that they will be competitive in the SEC, and more often than not in the upper echelon of the league.

Outside of their upset vs us, they only beat two P5 teams with 6 wins vs P5 programs. Iowa State (7-5), West Virginia (8-4). Not impressive.

If I were an ou alum/ ex/ fan I'd be concerned I lost not one, but two starting QBs that were heisman material. That alone tells you they can't pay $$ with the Big Boys in this NIL environment. In the end that will send ou into mediocrity . Other highly regarded players have bolted from ou as well (this thread/ OP is proof)

@Horn2RunAgain, an OU demise would be about the best thing I could possibly imagine. A thorn in my side my entire life, basically. With a few exceptions.

A&M doesn't have King Jackie anymore, so they won't worry me.

OU's demise is something I'll believe when I see it. I just think there's something about their tradition and ability to bring in top talent that will keep them very competitive.

The wild card? $$$ How is their NIL pot going? I don't understand why their starting QB would leave. I was shocked about that. What does he know about the inner workings of the team or is it just a money play?

It could be a culture issue. QB was from Hawaii - he may want to get back to the pacific again. Not a lot of ocean front property in Oklahoma.

My take: His plan was to go to the NFL. Especially once he started having a good year. During the season, when it was asked if DG would be using his last year of eligibility, BV announced that this would be his last year. DG's second half of the year was not as good as the high that was Dallas. I think they were all on the same page at that time.

Smash/Cut to the end of season: DG's draft grade came in. I've seen late round/undrafted free agent. It was disappointing to him. While the Sooners could take him back and it would be awesome, they also had the #1 2022 QB who had sat for a year and could easily portal if DG returned. So, from OU's point of view, 2-3 years of Jackson Arnold was greater than 1 more year with DG. From DG's point of view, he had one year of eligibility and there are some programs out there who would pay similar to a 7th round draft pick or free agent and he found one. It also surely factored in that his OC was leaving. BV knew that they had a guy behind him who had more physical abilities but was green and just young and inexperienced in Jackson Arnold.

I think (ney hope) that a seasoned JArnold will be a better QB than DG. I love DG. But, if you watched much of OU at all you saw a lot of deep throws that were underthrown. He just doesn't have an NFL arm and runs a 4.83 and is 5'11". Arnold has an NFL arm but he needs to improve above the shoulders. I think that the new OC will try to tailor an offense around his strengths and weaknesses.

God, and they beat Texas anyway. It's just a different game isn't it? People rise to the occasion from the pure adrenaline rush. That last 75 yard drive with no timeouts was ridiculous. They were unstoppable.

I am sure most would agree there is a difference between athletics and quality of education
Based upon my 25 years experience in recruiting/ hiring/ firing sales type roles.
A college education ( including MBA types) has zero impact on performance. Zero.
If I had a draft board of an estimated 100 directs or coworkers, including inside sales … support, the first 3 off the board for me wete HS only. The biggest clown was an arrogant ivy league grad who couldn’t make a decision on the most elementary issues.

And UT is killing the portal- just so none complains about getting off topic.

I read the same nonsense about Nebraska. "All those heismans and great players!. Those national titles! (Last one for ou being a qtr of a century ago come next yr). All that tradition! "

NIL changed everything, people. It's a different business now just as the changing conference scenario did in Nebraska . Ou was a top 5 program because they paid top 5 money for talent under the existing guidelines of the ncaa. That environment is gone by the way of the dinosaurs. It's far more competitive now, buying talent.

We could see it coming for NU in the late 90s just like we see it now for ou. It took 5 years to even notice a downturn but once it came, it didn't surprise (for those who could read the landscape of the times)
