#1 Longhorns @ #7 Owls

I was at the game. Never seen such a bunch of morons. The correct call would have been to call it a dead ball out and put the runner back at 2nd. The runner went halfway to third and waited for the out/safe call. The 2nd/3rd base umpire was standing in the shallow outfield behind second base watching (poorly) to see if it was a catch and clearly signaled safe, so the runner took off. That same umpire is the one that claimed he tagged up. How could he possibly have seen if he tagged up when he was behind second base looking into the outfield?? The home plate umpire is the one that should have been watching for the tag, but obviously he wasn't. I also don't agree that you could have called the guy out for not tagging. He had gone halfway and kept going only when the ump made a safe sign. Just pathetic umpiring. The home plate umpire was also consistently calling a low inside pitch a strike, but that's the Horn's fault for not adjusting.

Did the benching of Hernandez happen directly in response to an error? I stepped away from my computer, came back and Etier was in the game ... mid-inning.

If so, this is only the 2nd time I've seen this in my life ... both times it's been Hernandez getting pulled mid-inning in a game vs Rice.

Weird.

In any event, even though he struggles in the field, we need his .385 average in the line-up. #39 is one of only three players we have hitting over .300.

Yeah, I don't know whats wrong with David. He has 8 errors (I believe) through 17 games. Not the worst but not the greatest. Any rate, his bat has been very good so far.

I was at the game last night. I thought the reason that Augie yanked Hernandez was because of his lack of effort going to his left on what looked like a playable ball, which went under his glove.

Augie was in prime form and had every right to jump all over the umps over the blown no-call on the double play after Moldenhour's catch. Texas was really sloppy, which I know grates on Augie big-time. Him being pissed about that probably didn't help the situation when the ump blew that call.

I blame Augie for our hitting woes. Why is he not using Keyes???? The guy is a stud, and came through in almost every game. I don't care about what he might look like in practice.....I want results in games, and he gives them.

Augie decides who plays...Why is he not playing one of the best clutch hitters we have. This guy, Keyes, even has rare power that we seldom see in Texas baseball lately. This guy doesn't strike out like our last few power hitters did. There is no reason not to play him.
