Shanks is an excellent recruiter, everyone agrees with that.It was Shaka who recruited and developed the talent on this team.
Or as they say, you are only as good as your last game. Here's to hoping he is great tonight! BTW OU sucks!Shanks is an excellent recruiter, everyone agrees with that.
The player development, game management, and instilling player discipline is missing.
He has had 6 years, he is what his record says he is.
Great game.....Sims was unreal!Or as they say, you are only as good as your last game. Here's to hoping he is great tonight! BTW OU sucks!
I am not too worried about seeding as Gonzaga is the only team that strikes a huge amount of fear in me. Other than that, Horns get hot and they can beat any other team in this tourney. Let's not speak about what could happen if they get ice cold.5-6
Big Dance Tournament Teams:
Baylor
WV
Texas
Kansas
Oklahoma
Tech
Oklahoma State
Against those teams we are 5-6, with all losses being close games - some down to the last seconds (except for Baylor and arguably Tech game 2). That's not exceptional, but it's not bad either. Not in this league. Plus we're beating the teams we should beat and not dropping the random game to ISU or KSU. If we were doing that, we'd all be pulling our hair out.
First round Big Dance -- we'll face a very beatable team
Second round Big Dance -- we'll face someone around the level of OU, Tech, Kansas, or OSU
(a 4 seed will get a 5 seed, and a 3 seed will get a 6 seed in the 2nd round) If we play a good game, we win that one.
Sweet 16 -- here's the big deal with seeding: if we're a 4 or 5 seed, we face the #1 seed in the bracket in the Sweet 16. If we're a 3 seed, we face the #2 seed in the bracket. So the difference between getting a 3 seed versus a 4 or 5 seed is big.
Of course, with this team and this coach, I pity the #1 and #2 seeds in our bracket.
