The hostages were taken in 10.7.23. There are Palestinians getting raped in Israeli jails. That doesn't justify wrongdoing on the other side, but it should give everyone a baseline of what is happening. Israel bombed Gaza for more than a year but now they are concerned with the fate of hostages? No way. When the hostage exchange started, it was obvious that Palestinians treated theirs at least as good as the Israelis. It's clear from the last week that there is an effort to change the story. First reports showed that the Palestinians treated hostages less harshly than Israelis. This week there was an effort to change the narrative.
Overall both sides are treating the other side abominably. But there isn't enough freedom of speech to accurately portray the situation. Makes me think the US and Western countries don't care about freedom of speech. I'm sure Europe hates freedom of speech. They said so this week. The left in America hates freedom of speech, and it is clear that the Left controls the news media and the federal bureaucracies.

What is amazing amd good about humanity is that sometimes a people that has murdered horifically, whether by hand or as collateral damage by bombs has risen above it. Germany and Japan, in generations still alive, killed with ferocity on a scale beyond the capability of Hamas. Now those two countries are among the world's most humane. It took outside intervention to bring the right kind of leaders to power.
It also took a hell of a lot of destruction and a great deal of indoctrination before they woke up. Nothing remotely on that scale has happened to an Islamic nation or to Gaza.

I'm not. First, no babies were tortured those were all fabricated stories. No evidence was given. It was just reported and re-reported based on an assertion. Babies did die, but the stories ovens, torture, etc were fake new.
Second, Israel raped Palestinians after 10/7 so the timing doesn't work out to say that Hamas did what they did because of the Israeli prison thing. The point though is that both sides are doing horrendous, horrendous things. No good guys in this conflict if you evaluate by methodological individualism and natural rights.

Maybe. When I was reading about it the media was supporting the Israeli soldiers who did it. I never saw reports that they were held accountable. I haven't paid as much attention over the last several months, but before that Israeli soldiers were getting away with everything.
Hamas haven't charged anybody for the murders of Israelis. Hamas is in charge so they aren't going to punish their own for doing what their commanders planned out. I don't equate Hamas with all Gazans though. As sick as it is I think normal Gazans celebrate sticking it to Israel regardless of what happened. They are wrong. Let's not forget how miserable Israel has made their lives. They are desperate and desperate people can do some very disgusting things.
