Lol. No, because she's tenured and was only bad mouthing a conservative.
She included a phone number in a tweet that was not her number but a rape crisis line or something like that. It was inundated with hate calls. She will probably get more flak for that than her statements.
That is one way of stating the issue in a nice manner. He could have also stated:I'm sure he does pretty well, and he undoubtedly has a paid staff. I'm sure having such a provost costs gifts, but if they got rid of him, it would likely cost them more. Corporate donors and liberal alumni would freak out and do so very publicly.
What's even worse is that this joker did a crappy job. He could have explained the historical roots of the song but chosen to foster unity rather than encouraging division and racial politics. He should have said this:
"The song was originally sung in a minstrel show by performers in black face, which is obviously inconsistent with our values today. However, like other pieces of music, its purpose has changed with the times. Today, the song instills great pride in our University and everything it brings its students and alumni. It may have been used as a tool of racial ridicule at one point, but for far longer, it has been a song of unity for all in the University of Texas community. Therefore, we should sing the song with pride for our University as well as for the progress we have made." After that, he should have led the group in singing the song.
But of course, that would have shutdown those who are offended by the song, so he wasn't going to do that.
If you eat on premises, while they are still basically fresh out of the fryer, then they are good (not great). However, they cool off very quickly, making them less appealing when they are in a to-go order...Wow I am not feeling you guys. Chick-Fil-A's waffle fries are in a league of their own IMO.

The University of Texas has created a do nothing position for me that pays very well. Although no one can actually prove that diversity is beneficial, and there are many provable instances where diversity has caused tremendous problems, the academic world has seen fit to accept certain people based on their skin color instead of their academic ability. Yes, those that have achieved less academically, but were accepted based on skin color tend to perform much worse than those with the same skin color that have achieved the appropriate level of academic standing, but we do not want to discuss that fact. We just want to refer to a nebulous "critical mass" of minorities that no one is able to decipher. I have come to realize that the "real world" exacts a price on all graduates for this reduced academic rigor in addition to the jaundiced eye it casts toward all minority graduates. That price is in the form of less hiring of graduates and less giving to the University. Regardless, my incentive is to keep my income, so I have to occasionally act as if I am doing something. Today, I am striking out at the school song. Even though the lyrics have been changed drastically from the original version, and we know the tune was used because it is very catchy, this criticism may be used to help me get a 1%- 2% raise at my next review in my current, useless government position. Man, I love liberals and the government taxation that actually pays for my bullshi-t. Hook'em, suckers!

Actually UT's bs has cost it dearly. UT's alumni giving levels are horribly low compared to comparable universities. Texas is a conservative state and UT continues to increase its spending on do-nothing admin jobs and reduce its giving by pissing off alumni. UT's solution is just to raise tuition again and again. Voters are generally apathetic about education. The governor and state legislators get admissions favors. Admissions favors + voter apathy = the continued mismanagement of UT.
Unfortunately, the super ego requires a bronze statue of iatrogenic to be placed in front of the Bidness and Economics building, or the renaming of the building housing the University’s HVAC chillers from “U T Physical Plant” to “Iatrogenic’s Conveyance of Cool Things at U T”I don't doubt that everything you're saying is true, but that's bigger than this incident or this employee. UT is very political (more so than most universities including the rubes from College Station, though all universities are political), and that undoubtedly alienates alumni. They alienate legislators. They just make sure they don't alienate the wrong ones.
However, suppose they eliminated this position . Might some conservative UT alumni write out a check? I'm sure some would. However, it would become a national story. Liberal alumni and students would crap in their pants, and the media would give them a big platform and let them use it to ***** about the firing and complain that UT doesn't care about its minority students. Obviously, they'd cut UT off, but in addition, virtue signaling businesses and individual donors who are connected to business would also cut them off. And of course, the minority members of the Legislature would bust their balls every chance they got. The reverse isn't true. Conservative legislators don't bust their balls for having this guy, because they don't care. I worked for a very conservative member of the House Higher Education Committee. Do you know how many times she mentioned this joker or people who do what he does? Not once.
Nevertheless, I'm going to lecture everybody on this again. Stop donating money to public universities. It's stupid regardless of whether they create fake positions for this doofus. Like I've said before, my local post office does a great job, and it's run by very decent guys - military personnel and veterans who bravely served their country during a time of war. They're far more honorable, far more competent, and far more worthy of my charity than the political hacks and tools who run UT. However, I'd never write that post office a check. Why not? Because they're a government agency, which means they have their hand in my wallet and can take money anytime they want. The same is true for UT or any public university. They don't need your money or anybody's money. Furthermore, they're not a friggin' charity. They are a taxpayer-funded service provider. Yes, they educate (or mal-educate) people, but students shell out obscene amounts of money for that service. It's a business transaction, not a charity. I did all kinds of work for clients, but once I took my contingent fee, they were under no moral obligation to give me money.
Furthermore, there are a million more worthy charities. If you're religious and have extra money sitting around, donate it to your local church or synagogue. If you're not religious, donate to a local food bank. Hell, donate to Paralyzed Veterans. Those guys had their spinal cords blown apart serving their country and can't even go to the bathroom properly, and you'd rather give your money to a bunch of pretentious, socialist, douches at a university?? What kind of screwed up priority is that? If you want to donate to an education-oriented cause donate to a scholarship fund that directly helps people go to college. If you're a conservative, do something useful. Set up a scholarship fund to pay for conservative kids who want to study education, journalism, law, or some other area of public and cultural advocacy. Giving money to a public university does the complete opposite. Stop doing it, especially if you're a conservative. They're working against you. You may as well give it to Planned Parenthood or Black Lives Matter.
I would love to know what the guy behind the counter is thinking!

And THAT IS a great way to get your dumbass arrested and tossed in jail. If I was an employee, or even a customer, I would very likely be trying to find a way to 'slip' and 'spill' my coffee on bullhorn-dude.

"Please sir, could you speak up a bit? That giant bullhorn 4 feet from my FACE isn't doing the trick". The rest I can't print here.

What is hilarious about this is that the manager who got fired is apparently an SJW
Obviously I have no idea what the truth is (and frankly don't care), but her "wokeness" is in dispute. Link.
....If the cheerleaders were naked and people were throwing money at them, I guess that would be OK?....
