Dumb Political Correctness

By Northeastern urban standards, Nate Silver is pretty sensible. He at least acknowledges the presence of a problem. He can think to himself, "hmm, if we insult the hell out of people and treat them like ****, they might have a reason not to vote for us."

What is it about liberals and the double-standard?
Do they not see it?
Or, do they just not care?

A great example of the "intellectual elite" (snicker, guffaw, chortle) versus the marketplace. The articulation of a few with little experience trying to make decisions on behalf thousands of people lined-up and exercising their freedom. The result? Goofy libs 0, chikin sammiches scoring every six seconds.

Weird AL was so woke after sending this this tweet, that he stomped out of his 50,000 square foot mansion that has a carbon footprint the size of Lubbock, and had to hop aboard his private jet just to clear his head

I guess.

He did keep saying Hillary was going to win up until election day. OTOH, I concede he also started adding caveats to all his "Hillary is favored" tweets as the election got close, saying that Trump was well within range and that people did not realize the race was close. Still, for me, the possibility exists that his faulty prognostications may have been an attempt to suppress Republican turnout. For this reason, I would never trust the guy.

So basically anybody who predicted a Trump loss had an agenda and can't be trusted.

Preferably without pickles and on whole wheat. It's a beautiful thing. If Chik-Fil-A opened in Germany, I'd gladly drive 2 hours and pay double the price to eat there.
Absolutely concur about the 'without pickles.' But they have no problems with getting the order correct when I spec it without pickles, so they have that going for them ;)

The whole wheat thing...meh. Not a big deal for me. I think some of their locations may have a whole wheat bun though.

Honestly if i weren't dieting this month, I would have been eating at one of the NYC Chic Fil As at least once this weekend. My hope is this drives up their business - which seems to be the usual result of progressive nonsense.

They have a grilled chicken sandwich...

One of the hacks used by an attorney in my building is to get the sandwich, forego the bun and slice the patty, thus having grilled chicken strips (which I believe is not presently a menu item).

If the lines are anything like they were when they opened in the Seattle area, you would have been waiting in line for an hour+. Maybe you can incorporate that into your diet...do calisthenics while standing in line.

Don't get me wrong. I like it either way, but the whole wheat gives it a heartiness that really appeals to me. And of course, the spicy chicken is a must - just takes to another level.

I definitely should tried the grilled, but it's hard to pass up the traditional.

Lines are typically out the door, especially since New Yorkers basically eat at any and all times of the day. But they move fast - they usually have six registers open so it's not really that bad a wait. But the in-line calisthenics suggestion intrigues me...

I've had the grilled. It's very good, but it doesn't compare. Just have the fried and then go jog for an extra 20 minutes. It's worth it. You could also skip the fries or have the fruit cup instead. I do like the waffle fries a lot, but they're not out-of-this-world like the sandwich is.

We need a hilarious but sad twitter thread. Since we don't have one yet, I'm just gonna leave this here...

Honestly, if you sell weed out of your apartment and get robbed at gunpoint, you shouldn't call the police at all. You should accept it as a cost of doing business and write it off. Nothing good is going to come out of calling the cops. They're not going to get your weed back. They might catch the guys and charge them with a crime, but you're going to jail for being a pot dealer either way.

The waffle fries are really the thing I've had at Chic fil a that have not wow'ed me. As fries go, I find them pretty mediocre, but that may be because they're not as salty or greasy as I think fries should be. I'd definitely go with the big three (Whataburger, In n Out, Shake Shack) over Chic fil a fries.

I like Whataburger fries, but you lost me at In-N-Out. I hate their fries. I know I'm supposed to love them, because they're freshly made. However, they come out overly soggy and greasy, and that's just not acceptable.

To me, French fries are supposed to be crispy on the outside and soft inside, and they shouldn't be dripping with grease. Somebody in America needs to master the Belgian fries - double fried with a little sea salt. They are amazing. And I hate to admit it, but I've become a fan of dipping in mayo. I didn't think I would. (I still don't like the fizzy mineral water though, so I can at least claim that I have haven't gone full Euro-weanie.)

I am embarrassed for these morons and U.T. I'm not sure how much money is wasted on paying a salary for a "vice provost of diversity", but I know that such thinking costs the University millions of dollars in gifts.

Also, the Asians are getting the shaft once again.

I'm sure he does pretty well, and he undoubtedly has a paid staff. I'm sure having such a provost costs gifts, but if they got rid of him, it would likely cost them more. Corporate donors and liberal alumni would freak out and do so very publicly.

What's even worse is that this joker did a crappy job. He could have explained the historical roots of the song but chosen to foster unity rather than encouraging division and racial politics. He should have said this:

"The song was originally sung in a minstrel show by performers in black face, which is obviously inconsistent with our values today. However, like other pieces of music, its purpose has changed with the times. Today, the song instills great pride in our University and everything it brings its students and alumni. It may have been used as a tool of racial ridicule at one point, but for far longer, it has been a song of unity for all in the University of Texas community. Therefore, we should sing the song with pride for our University as well as for the progress we have made." After that, he should have led the group in singing the song.

But of course, that would have shutdown those who are offended by the song, so he wasn't going to do that.

A freakout at CUNY Law School - over a South Texas College of Law faculty member visiting to give a lecture on free speech on campus. Link. I'm familiar with Professor Blackman. He's mild mannered and non-controversial. He's no Milo.

Protestors were shouting about the rule of law being white supremacy and legal objectivity being a myth as well as "**** the law." Keep in mind, these are law students, not a bunch of 19-year-old dumbasses. They're college graduates who did reasonably well in college and at least respectably on the LSAT. And this is they're mentality about law. It's like a bunch of med students shooting, "**** medicine."

I've mentioned that conservatives need to go into education and journalism. They also need to go into the legal profession and not just to make money. They need to become law professors and judges. If they don't, the Supreme Court justices of the 2030s will think like these crackpot students. Extremely dangerous.

At some point in our lifetimes, the Eyes of Texas will become taboo at UT. Link

Maybe we should just quit speaking English itself. We should learn to speak Swahili or some minority's language. That way we could assure ourselves that we're not perpetuating some white racist tradition. I know I'd rest a lot easier knowing that I wasn't offending any snow flakes.
