Posting Guidelines

Hornfans Posting Guidelines

Please be respectful of your fellow members, as well as the coaches and players. Personal attacks, name-calling and aggressive messages are not acceptable. If you disagree with someone, attack the idea, not the person.

Do not post or link to anything that is threatening, spammy, contains adult content/nudity, contains personal information of others, risks copyright infringement, encourages unlawful activity, or otherwise violates any laws.

Political commentary belongs on the West Mall forum only, not on the sports forums or anywhere else. For our policy on this, see the post Sports and Politics on Hornfans. Political figures are not to be used as account avatars, and signatures that are political in nature are prohibited.

Please do not plagiarize paid sites. A brief excerpt with a link to the source site is OK. Those guys are trying to make a living too.

Remember that recruits, players and their families browse UT sports forums. Let’s try to represent the fanbase in a positive way.

The personal lives of players, coaches and university personnel are off-limits.

If you take particular issue with another user and are unable to reply in a civilized and constructive way to their posts, use the Ignore feature. If you feel a user is being aggressive or threatening towards you, click the “Report” link below the post and let the staff know about it. Don’t respond publicly.

Each user may have only one account. If duplicate accounts are discovered, the duplicates may be removed.

If you have a problem with or question about a moderator’s decision, contact the moderator privately or submit a message through the contact link. Posts or topics discussing moderator actions will be removed.

Don’t post anything that’s not safe for work. If you’re not sure if it crosses the line, it’s probably best not to post it. A lot of folks browse Hornfans at the office while they pretend to be working.

Stay on topic within a thread. If you want to take the discussion in a different direction you should probably start a new thread.

Don’t put large images in your signature. It makes the pages take longer to load and slows down the site for everyone.

Don’t post personal information about anyone without their permission.

No advertising or soliciting.

In short, be cool. Let’s have fun and show some kindness to our fellow humans here.

These Guidelines may be changed at any time without notice.

If you do not agree to abide by the Guidelines, please do not register or use this website. If you wish to close your account, Contact Us.
