I'd like to compile, for my own uses, a list of the best places to eat in Austin and the surrounding areas. If you have a top 3 and everything else pales, give me those. If you can't trim your list any shorter than 20, then give me 20. Where do you go, what do you order?

Nueva Onda - Migas
Trudy's - Migas
Chuys - Green Chile Enchiladas
La Fuetes - anything
El Arroyo - enchiladas del mar
Trulucks - seared tuna
Dave and Busters - chicken parmigana sandwhich (seriously)
Shoreline Grill - anything
Little Mexico - 1st st burrito (I think) HUGE
Shady Grove - green chile anything
Juan in a Million - the DJ
Enchiladas y Mas - cheese enchiladas, chili sauce, lots o' onions
South Lamar Drafthouse - godfather pizza or ceaser salad

My list ebbs and flows, but you can tell I'm a tex-mex fan. I'm also clearly short on the east-side joints, but we're working on that. I'm sure I'm also leaving off about five top-notch places ... but ... what are yours?

mods - this probably belongs in "around austin" - but can it live here for a bit for the traffic?

My top five are pretty constant; the rest just depend on what sounds good lately.

1. Uchi--anything and everything
2. Asti--white pizza w/truffle oil and fried sage
3. Chez Nous--whatever the steak option is with the nightly prix fixe
4. Maudie's--Diablo Soul Food; Rockin' Ruthanne's, 1/2 ckn, 1/2 ground beef
5. Austin Land & Cattle--bone-in ribeye, medium rare
6. El Sol y La Luna--queso; huevos con chorizo; plantains
7. Jo's--chicken burger w/fries
8. Mandola's--prosciutto w/arugula pizza; pasta bolognese or carbonara
9. Taco Shack--Orlando's Plate
10. Saccone's--spinach pizza with 1/2 pepperoni, 1/2 meatballs
