Someone explain Yammer to me.
I have often complained inside my company that I am better off getting my questions answered either on hornfans.com or wikipedia than either: a) using the search engine on our Intranet, b) hunting/pecking on a shared network drive, or c) sending an email to a few colleagues that maybe know the answer. Even with I find someone internally that knows they answer, they get annoyed with me and respond, "I sent that out in an email three months ago?" I just want to scream, "Do you know how many emails I get?"
My company just adopted Yammer, but like any thin-client software no one knows exactly how to use it. I give it credit that the posts are searchable, but instead of the groups and threads and posts hierarchical structure it seems to be a come-one-come-all sandbox.
Someone bring some clarity to me on this. Thanks.
