The year is 1973, and the scientist is describing his invention, saying it is "as maneuverable as a Harrier...." the Harrier didn't come out until the mid 80's.

Eyes, that's a complete fail. USMC started using them in the early 70s, and the Royal Navy were using them way back in the late 60s.

BTW, check out this CNN story/video posted today of a Harrier with a broken nose gear landing on an amphib. Pretty amazing.
