XBox or Playstation 3

I am buying myself a Christmas present and have decided I want a gaming station.

I'm not an uber-gamer, I just want a system to play sports on (namely college football) and Rockband.

Any suggestions?

get a ps3 for the built in bluray. if you already have a bluray solution, get the 360.

Get a 360. Online gaming is superior and you can always buy a blueray at wal mart for cheap on black friday if you care about that stuff.

Xbox 360.

- It's cheaper
- Better online gaming
- MS has deep pockets, so there are a lot more exclusives
- Many of the cross platform games look better on the Xbox compared to the PS3 (Orange Box, Fallout3)

But if you are really just going to play sports games and rock band, the last three points are not important.

My bad.....I didn't realize that 360 output HD now. I never considered Xbox because I wanted the blu-ray player.

If you want a wii, I'll sell you mine. Fun for party games and for little kids and for about a week for adults. Thats about it, IMO. No multimedia capabilities, poor graphics.

are there any internal differences between the xbox360 elite and the xbox360 pro?

Of course you get the HD cable included in the elite box, as well as a larger hard drive, also the black color difference, anything else?

Those are the only differences between the elite and pro.

FWIW, I am very happy that I chose an elite. . With the new ability to install games on the hard drive, I will definitely need more space in the future. (My hard drive is currently about half full)

Of course, I download a ton of demos and play them once, and don't bother deleting afterwards. If I had a 60GB drive, I'd have to start cleaning up stuff.

In my house we have 2 ps3's and 1 xbox360. The ps3's seem to be going most of the time and the xbox isn't even connected at the moment. Not sure what that means but they only used the xbox when gears of war and halo were new.

I always end all discussions by saying buy all the systems. I have owned almost all the systems ever made. And I still have most of them, pretty sad but you never miss out on a particular game

I've had my original xbox for about 7 or so years. I wanted to be able to use the games from that so xbox360 was my choice for that reason.

I ended up spending the extra money on the elite. it is pretty sweet. Just got fallout 3 too.(played I and II on the pc)

wally world. 399 with teh two ******** games included in the holiday bundle. I bought it on sunday.

I think there are some specials at dell now but I didn't want to wait. I have amazon prime for free shipping so I bought a second controller and a couple other accessories cheaper with the free shipping and no tax for that.

I didn't realize it had a dvr feature as long as you have a vista premium. I'll probably use that at some point since I never pay up for the tivo or other dvr options and have a couple computers with vista premium.
