So, I picked up a Kinect over the weekend. Here are my 2 cents.
The Good:
1. The motion detection is pretty incredible. It senses pretty much every move you make and is very fluid and quick.
2. It has a microphone, so you can use voice commands for some of the menu selections.
3. It's a great workout. The track and field game on Kinect Sports will absolutely kick your ***.
The Bad:
1. There aren't enough games. 18 games currently on the market. Not enough.
2. Variety. Of the 18 games available, most of them are kiddie type sports games and dance games.
The Ugly:
Hackers have been having a field day creating cool minigames and porting older games for use with Kinect. However, Microsoft didn't seem to put this type of innovation into the games they created for their release.
How could Microsoft's programmers get their asses kicked by a couple guys in their basement?
All in all, I'm satisfied with my purchase and the next slate of games seem to be a little bit more interesting than the launch titles.
