i know of pro-med. they charge about $86 and up

anyone want to recommend a place that has cheaper x-rays and stuff.

i just started a new job and my insurance doesn't kick in until june 1st. so i'm sol until then.

Make a couple of calls- tell them you don't have insurance until June 1 and what you think is wrong, and what the cost estimate might be. Tell them you KNOW they can't give you a rwal quote over the phone without being examined, but you are looking for a ballpark range since you are going to be writing a check for it. You think you broke your hand, but go into detial about what bones etc. You won't get a hard price but probably a good ballpark.

I would suggest calling a doctor who COULD be your permanent doctor once the insurance kicks in- in that they take your future insurance and are on that plan. You might be surprised in that they might cut you a deal if you might become a prospective fully insured client in just over a month. Anyhow that's what I would do. Plus you won't have to sit for 2-1/2 hours at pro med just waiting, if you have an appointment with a "real" doctor. The cost probably won't be much different.

FWIW

well i do have a family doctor i've had since i was just a tot. i guess i could give that a shot.
