I can't believe it hasn't been posted...

Chris Carter said in an interview that this movie is not an alien story.....the trailer looks like a non-mythology episode.

Interesting that it's not following the main X-files storyline. I liked the last movie - save for the tumbleweeds outside of Dallas. I'll be looking forward to this one....

I've a bunch of episodes on my DVR. When I come to watch them, I check out the first five minutes and if it's not an alien conspiracy episode I skip it and go to the next one.
Doing an X-Files movie without aliens is like doing:

A Bond movie without a villain plotting to take over the world,
An Indiana Jones movie without a treasure search
A Bourne movie without a chase scene
A Rocky movie without boxing
A porn movie with NO SEX AT ALL
Etc. etc.

Some of the best episodes were the "monster of the week" ones. Bring it on, I can't wait.

episode called "home" i think? with crazy *** inbreds. that was a good one. i think they stopped airing it b/c it was too much.

my two favorite episodes were not the main story.

The vampire one with Luke Wilson told from the differing perspectives of Mulder and Scully.

The one where a monster in the suburbs comes out and kills people in violation of the HOA bylaws.

Those were great.

I love the episode with the OCD vampires. I especially like the scene - told from Scully's point of view - where Scully finds Mulder on the floor of the motel room and he is singing the theme from Shaft.
