One could use an aircraft carrier as a bargaining chip to get favorable trade agreements or alliances with coastal states. Otherwise it was probably just added as a joke to an otherwise worthy inquiry.

If the dollar collapese, barter until a currency emerges. Therefore Wyoming should accumulate a silver and copper reserve as those two can easily be bartered or minted and especially shoved up the Ben Bernank's backside.
