WSJ: Perry Is In

Interesting. He has a better record than any of the GOP candidates thus far. He will be the clear leader, imo.

Still not official

I saw an AP article on Rick Perry and the amount of his giving to religious organizations. when I was checking online obituaries with the Lubbock Avalanche Journal I'm not going to link it because I don't want tithing to become a prerequisite for seeking a Republican presidential nomination. It also shows me that as much as I dislike Perry, there are others who dislike him more. I've never seen Perry speak and sound presidential, but he hasn't been in front of that audience before. It will be interesting to see how he projects from the lectern and when answering tough questions from national media.

His high poll numbers nationally among Republicans reflect a general disastifaction with the GOP field.

Once Perry is subjected to less than partisan scrutiny, i get the feeling the shine will wear off very quickly. If he somehow wins the nomination, he will be compared constantly to Bush by the Obama camp. Having a living, breathing embodiment of GWBush to run against will be helpful to Obama's chances.

I don't know if "filling a vacuum" in the GOP field is a true path to success in a general election. We will see.

Of course i could be utterly completely wrong, i apparently was wrong in predicting he wouldn't get in just days ago.

Doug Schoen, of PSB (Mark Penn's campaign strategy group for HRC's 2008 campaign), and Fox employee? The same guy who said Obama should just give up in 2012?

Shocking poll! Perry FTW for sure.

Let's put this where the goats can get it:
Perry has never had a real job, He has run the Texas economy into the ground while lining his own pockets and claiming to be doing a great job. . He is responsible for the TTC a land grab that would give ownwership and control of thousands of miles of public roadway to foreign governments, he proposed to force virus inoculations on schoolgirls to benefit a drug company his son was involved with etc. Elected with only 37% of the vote sinceTexas does not require a 51% majority to win the governors seat, meaning 63% didn't want him.

America where anybody, and we mean anybody can be elected president.

Do even the majority of GOPs in Texas actually like Perry? I get the impression he's a "hold your nose and vote" candidate for a lot of GOPs. It'd be funny if the Aggie lost the Texas primary to somebody from a northern state.

Another terrible candidate for the GOP. They are not going to win with any of their current candidates.

Still waiting for him to end Medicare or make all of the big changes he has talked about.

Agree that Perry is not someone to get excited about. On the other hand, if he can defeat BHO, that in and of itself is damn exciting. He deserves to be Cartered.
