Dee Anderson ..... West Mesquite (Mesquite, TX)
4-star ..... WR ..... 6-5/205 ..... LSU

Yeah, he committed to LSU, but that was almost a year ago. The Horns have been going after him pretty Strong for some time; and following his participation in the UTL this weekend, he sounded pretty Strong on Texas (see video interview).

Per HD:
Anderson is a fiery competitor and a well-rounded prospect at the position. He has a real passion for blocking and will secure blocks until the whistle blows. But just because he is a good blocker does not take anything away from his abilities as a pass catcher. He is a deep vertical threat who will climb the ladder and out-muscle defensive backs for the deep ball. He runs solid routes and is a WR who a QB can rely on in big or key situations.

Strengths: blocking ability, body control, and competitiveness.

Per OB:
West Mesquite WR Dee Anderson remains committed to LSU, but he’s pretty open about having interest in Texas. Texas is the main school giving chase to the Tigers. Anderson is a cousin of current UT freshman Deandre McNeal and a friend of Malik Jefferson’s.

“They talk to me every week, every other week, want me to come down there with Deandre and Malik for a visit. I’m going up there sometime this summer.”

Anderson said McNeal and Jefferson recruit him all the time. “Every time I talk to them, it’s ‘Come to Texas, come to Texas.’”

NOTE: The post below is... concerning.

Per Scout (May 20, 2015):
LSU wide receiver commit Dee Anderson was dismissed from the West Mesquite football team this week after a string of incidents left him in poor standing with the coaching staff.

The latest problem stemmed from a fight with a teammate and served as the final straw. Anderson did not participate in the team's spring game Tuesday, which is when West Mesquite coach Jeff Neill announced his dismissal to reporters in attendance.

Neill offered no further details, but Anderson is not expected to be welcome back to the team for his senior season.

Sources at LSU confirmed they are aware of Anderson's dismissal and are sticking with him as a commit in the 2016 class. That could change if more information is made available, but for now, Anderson remains committed to LSU.

------------

Anderson has 14 offers including Alabama, ou, TCU, and Tennessee. None of these schools has withheld or withdrawn their offer as of today. Still, missing his senior season seems like a recruiting negative to me.

Sounds pretty serious and he has been a problem for awhile. Dismissed for the HS Team, no senior season. I like his play, but he won't get past summer camp with those type antics, at least not in Strong's program.

Per a poster (I think a HS coach) at another site:

Yes he [Dee Anderson] was kicked off for some altercation with the coaches son. And he'll play his Senior season at Desoto. I don't know what happen and who's fault it was but my guess is if it wasn't the coaches son he'd still be there at Mesquite.
