Worn out subject... Stallings says LHN

heard this live and my biggest problem with it was Galloway kissing his ***, and his continuously calling us the "whiney orange". Thankfully his co-host was a little more hostile.

Stallings knows better than most, that aggy is not a traditional power.

After playing under Bear Bryant at eAtMe, he coached under him at Bama, head coached at aggy, then coached at the 'Boys (maybe he learned a bit from Tom Landry), then head coached at Bama.

His head coaching records?:

Of course times change things, but at aggy in the 60s in 7 years he had 1 winning season, winning the SWC that year.

At Bama in the 90s he had a winning record every year of 7 years, won the SEC West 4 times, and won an MNC,

Apparently it's easier to win at Bama than at aggy.

No wonder aggy wants to get away from Texas. Until 2 years ago Bama couldn't ever beat Texas either.

aggy cant get their story straight because they have no real story except a petulant temper tantrum and that is no reason to make decisions like they did.

Gene Stallings, there is an unbiased source.

Ags talk about him now like he was Bear Bryant when he was aggy, but the truth of the matter was that they were ready to fire him after his first ten minutes just like they were any other coach they have ever had. They dog cussed Stallings back in the day ten times worse than Slocum, Fran, AND Sherman got it.

Just another wher delusion thy name is aggy.

i too heard this live. My take is, Stallings is an old man. He doesn't digest info as well as he used to & can be manipulated easily thru emotions.

If this happened 20 yrs ago he'd say the same things he said, but wouldn't mean it....from he interview he sounded like he swallowed the "evil LHN drove us out, we have no options left" nonsense.

As for Galloway, he's like the espn tv clowns....whatever he thinks drives his ratings, he'll say...been that way for since the 1980s. I just ignore him for the most part

aggy has been threatening to go to the SEC from my earliest memory in the late 70's early 80's.

Kind of takes the wind out of the "LHN excuse". But then again aggy never lets facts interfere with reality.

On the contrary - after Nebraska and Colorado bolted, A&M agreed to stay in the conference - knowing full well that Texas was moving forward with the Longhorn Network. This fact is lost on most aggys. After we patched up the conference, we patted them on the head and gave them "credit for keeping the conference together," knowing full well, that the conference lives or dies based upon what Texas (1st) and OU (2nd) decides to do. But we let them believe that they were the big boys who saved the conference.... Kinda like the way I would cheer for my 5 year old for making a basket, when all he did was throw it a foot above his head, and I sorta "helped" it land in the basket. ("Wow! - Great Job Jimmy - you really did make a basket!") Evidence of this fantasy can be found among ags who are in disbelief that the conference that THEY saved is now somehow managing to survive without them. I have said all along - aggy was not going to be happy unless they left the conference AND the conference died as a result of them leaving.

I wrote Galloway when he wrote that article about TCU deserved to play Bama in 09 for the championship. He wrote back saying he's sorry but that is just his opinion. Well his opinioned sucked because TCU lost to a team not near as good as Bama in the Rosebowl that year. We lost our starting QB (the most wins for starting QB in college football history at the time) the first series and the game was on the line with 3 minute in the game with us playing a true freshman Gilbert after getting hit from behind and fumbled.
