Was it demanded of McCain? Was he hounded abt it until he showed his bc? I don't recall that. I don't remember him even having to address this non-issue.

I do recall some Democrats and news media bringing up the fact that he was born in the PC Zone, but I do not recall any serious attempt to delegitimize his candidacy for POTUS that came close to what Obama has seen.

Any other names you'd like to throw out?
 
Birthers are racist. They give cover to their reasoning by putting the onus on Obama to prove his citizenship, but have never considered the idea that one of our other presidents wasn't a citizen or demanded so much to see one of their birth certificates.
 
Rickysrun, please for the love of God put the damn racist card away already. We have a right in this country to question people that seek out or have high political positions. If you insist on persistent playing of the card that I can assure you that your #1 racist on the list would be Joe Biden who called out Obama for the empty suit that he is very early on in the 2008 campaign.

A very interesting article abt how JM was born in 1936 (some say at Colon City, Panama and some say at NAS Coco Solo) and that "The former unincorporated territory of the Panama Canal Zone and its related military facilities were not regarded as United States territory at the time, but 8 U.S.C. § 1403, which became law in 1937, retroactively conferred citizenship on individuals born within the Canal Zone on or after February 26, 1904, and on individuals born in the Republic of Panama on or after that date who had at least one U.S. citizen parent employed by the U.S. government or the Panama Railway Company."

Hmmm....sounds to me like a rightwing plan to get McCain set up to become POTUS later in his life.......

There are plenty of reasons. Just a couple reasons are that American citizens could not legally travel to Indonesia or Pakistan at the times that Obama did. So, there are questions which he has successfully evaded. Why the hell did he feel it necessary to present his birth certificate now? He's the freaking POTUS.
