World Cup Preliminary rosters

Surprised no threads are up yet...come on people! We're exactly 1 month from U.S. v. England!!

I figured it's still a bit premature for the official WC 2010 thread, but with the rosters coming out this week, there's plenty to discuss.

U.S. 30-man roster

So...any thoughts or complaints on Bradley's selections? I would have loved to see Charlie Davies continue his miraculous comeback but I guess it's just not in the cards. I certainly don't blame Bradley for leaving him off and I still applaud Charlie on the incredible progress he's made.

At this point it seems likely that Dempsey moves up top with Jozy and we see a midfield of Donovan/Bradley/Edu/Holden. Any other ideas?

maybe I am being a bit too personal, but Buddle? Really? I don't think he is that good. I would have Adu over him, I think... or maybe someone else, but not Buddle.

I feel bad for Charlie, I really do. But for him not have played since October and just recently started to kick a ball, he didn't have a realistic chance of playing.

We have many options for the world cup this time around. ESPN has brit announcers, which will make me watch univision a little less (they have horrible announcers, but they were still better than what ESPN rolled out over the years). The only good thing about the new Time Warner upgrade is that Univision is in HD. ESPN Deportes will also carry games in portuguese.

ESPN radio and deportes radio will have the games in english and spanish.

And I beleive ESPN3 will have all the games on the web.

I can't wait. I think we've got a shot against England. IMO, the U.S. is a hard team to match up with. What we lack in overall skill is made up with hustle and speed.
Problem is that we might be seeing Germany in the 2nd round if we make it past the 1st.
BTW, I do worry about Rooney against our back 4. Gooch is a stud but does not have Rooney's speed.
