I asked this on the game thread but everyone was too into the game...

Does anyone know if B. Workman is any relation to Rusty Workman who played football at UT in 1963?

Rusty's dad was head coach at Arlington High and later AD for the Arlington schools. Rusty was a hs all-state back.

It is not mentioned on his biography on texassports.com. However, he was born in Arlington, moved to Bowie, Tx and Dad's name is Dennis.

Is it a foregone conclusion that Workman will be our closer next year, or will it be between him and Dicherry (sp?)? I know Austin Dicherry was our setup guy all year, and its the natural order of progression as a pitcher to move from setup guy to closer, but i really like Workmans stuff better as a closer.

curious about this myself. clearly, Workman's arm is the most live on the staff. I hadn't ever really though about him as a potential closer for next year until the CWS.

Skip/Augie said they want to see who steps up like Austin Wood and wants the closer role. Said it's all about attitude and mentality, and they want someone who desires to be in that position/role.

Workman is clearly a candidate, IF he wants it. Things may become clearer after fall ball.

Hopefully, Skip can work with Stafford and McKirahan to throw consistent strikes and get some good movement on the ball. Add in the incoming frosh and we could easily be deeper than I've ever seen.
