anyone know anything about replacing wood siding? i've got some spots that need replacing, not the entire house. is this possible? anyone know where i can buy wood siding? i've done a little searching online and just find installation companies.

Yes, Lowe's has common builder types of wood siding in sheets to match exactly if you are lucky. You can replace just one piece, or all of it.
Are you in Austin? We just had Hardie board siding installed to replace our siding, and we used Noah's Ark Construction, and were happy with the workers and the job they did. I'm sure they can do the conventional wood siding. We found them on Angie's List.

For wood siding you are probably going to have better results @ BMC West or Stock.

Find an older lumber yard and see if they don't have a few pieces in stock. If not, they should be able to help you get what you need. If it is older cypress siding, there are suppliers around Beaumount that ship all over the state. If it is Cedar or pine, then it should be fairly easy to find anywhere in the State.
