You should be asking that question of alot more teams other than OU. The Big 12 is screwed again by the committee by not awarding this conference a national seed........and giving it to Georgia! OSU, Aggie, & Nebraska all have higher RPI's AND better records than the Bulldogs.

I will be rooting for OU and the rest of the Big 12 through this whole tournament. Great conference tournament win for the Horns this w/end.

What was ou's conference record? I saw our series with them, and while they can hit - they have a gaggle of spare pitchers.

There were some "interesting" selections.

I can only imagine OU was included to appease the Big XII after they were snubbed of a national seed, while the SEC somehow gets two...

OU's conference record sucked balls. Plain and simple. Too many close games lost.....they aren't as bad as their record......but you gotta win some close ones........just like Texas did against us on Saturday!

If the committee wanted to throw us a bone, then we really got screwed. I don't think OU's selection is as shocking to the committe as some would like to think........again, there are several more teams with worse records/RPi in this tournament than OU.

Begrudgingly.......I give this:

Take it all the way to Omaha, Horns!!

I agree that OU shouldn't have gotten in. I would have expected to see Baylor in before OU, not to mention Oregon State. Even OU's coach said that they needed to win the Big XII tournament in order to get to the NCAAs. This further solidifies my belief that the committee is playing the pity game this year. They're trying to make it insanely difficult for the teams that regularly get to Omaha and easy for all the scrubs.

Well.......hooray for the Beavers they beat Arizona in a series......and are even with ASU @ 2-2 on the year. They did very little else all year long.

OU does NOT have a great record AND they lost a crapload of close games in conference. Regardless, OU has more wins over better competition...........AND I would venture to say that the Big 12 is a better baseball conference this year.

If OU shouldn't have made it.........then what do you do with teams with a lower RPI, in worse conferences, with a worse records.........who are all in the tournament as well?

Close games mean nothing.

Nice regional analysis podcast on Baseball America today. Starts out (and finishes) with some good ol' committee/sooner bashing.

A loss is a loss.......but to say that close games mean nothing is wrong. You can take some solace in battling an opponent and losing a close one vs. getting blitzed out of your mind.

Bash away.......but there are a whole lot of other "issues" that the committee should address before discussion turns to whether OU is in the top 64 teams in the nation this year.

I disagree. Getting into the tourney is priority #1, is it not?

The more numbers you look at, the more inexplicable it gets. Even their own coach figured the season was over...didn't even bother to say they belonged.

I didn't think they would be in either.......but they are now and I am hoping they represent the conference well.

I guarantee you that a few wins at ASU will go a long way in eliminating all the head scratching that is going on.

I refuse to be upset about being included in this tournament by a committee that has screwed the Big 12 for years.

Dude.....they aren't a whole lot of things that make no sense with the NCAA and this committee in particular.
