I thought women's softball (2009 World Cup--USA v. Netherlands) was supposed to be on ESPN at 7 pm tonight. Anybody have any info?

EDIT--just saw the scroll at the bottom of the screen--power outage in Oklahoma City so they are showing a replay of 2007 USA v Japan with Cat on the mound.

EDIT 2--turned out to be a one hour delay. Playing now. Cat's not pitching tonight.

jenny finch pitched and she kicked ***....

Jenny pitched in relief--the starting pitcher did well, too.

Lostman, have you heard yet which game Cat is pitching today? My guess would be Canada; then Monica against Japan tonight; so that Japan won't see Cat until the finals when she can get her revenge.

Well - you would think that stanhin - but we have a new coach. Catherine said she was going this evening. So tune in!

I was wrong as usual--so Cat v. Japan tonight. I can't wait.

P.S. Admittedly, they are for a good cause, but could the pink unis team USA is wearing against Canada possibly be any uglier?

EDIT--what a slaughter; glad we didn't waste Cat on this game.

Cat gets two strikeouts and a ground out in the first although a runner reached second on an error and a stolen base.

Two more strikeouts in the third.

No runs for Team USA so far in the game--Cat must feel like she's pitching for Texas again.

Cat allows two singles in the fourth, but gets a strikeout to end the inning with runners on second and third. Whew.

Wow--an incredible throw to the plate by the Japan centerfielder cut down our runner after a single. Best play of the game. However, we did score one run, finally!!!

Well ****--Japan scores after a lead off walk, sacrifice bunt, the second error of the game by the second baseman and a sacrifice fly to left. Cat intentionally walks the next batter, and finally Caitlin Lowe snags a hell of a long ball at the fence in center to save Cat's inning.

Our first batter hits a homer to start the next inning. Another homer scores two more runs. At last we have some breathing room. However, Japan's ace pitcher did not come to these games, and this pitcher is their third of the game. They are a good team--If they had their ace pitcher, we would have all we can handle, and maybe more, again. Rain delay.
