Hello,
i want to have a wireless connection between my CD player and my receiver. for example, i would like to have my receiver, speakers, TV, etc etc...in one room, but have my CD player located in another room. but if i place a cd in the player, i would like to to transmit to the receiver (and the speakers) in the other room and play in there.

does some kind of transmitter of thsi sort exist? please let me know if any of you have heard of anything like this.

thanks, Terry

I have a Radio Shack "Wireless Audio/Video Distribution System" that I bought for pretty much that exact purpose. I used it for sending mp3s from my computer to my reciever in the other room.

I'm no longer doing anything with it now that I have an mp3 player as part of my home theater, so I'd be happy to sell it to you for $20.

that sounds great....but i just want to make sure i know what i'm getting.

how does this connect to my cd player. i just want to make sure you know....i'm not talking about a computer....i'm just talking stereo equipment. (no USB ports etc......just A/V connections etc). the same applies to my Stereo receiver.

will this work for stereo equipment? does it pick up alot of interference? is there some webpage where i can see the product and what it actually is?

you can email me at [email protected]. please let me know and thanks so much for your response...

Terry

I am interested in all those same questions. I just moved in with the fiancee and my monster CD changer isnt going to fit into her fancy schmancy stereo cabinet. Chicks, go figure.

Looks like I will have to rip my CDs and make the laptop a stereo component and wireless seems like a good idea. I just dont know **** about the execution of this.

Thanks in advance for the knowledge.

Hopefully some pictures will save me a thousand words.

The only inputs are RCA; the receiver has a coax output as well but I've never used it.

If you don't have the ability to run cable through your attic, these are the best option that I'm aware of. There is the potential for interference from both cordless phones and wireless LANs that share the 2.4 GHz frequency.

I used it both in an apartment and in my house with positive results. The audio is not always 100% static free, but it is definitely good quality.

bullzak, will the laptop fit in the entertainment center? If you're going to rip everything onto it it may just be easier to connect it directly to the receiver and save the wireless step. Alternatively, there are several devices (Creative and Linksys, for example) that you can add to a wireless home network and stream MP3s to.

i heard somewhere that there is some sort of device that can do this but can transmit the signal trough a phone jack. does anyone out there know anythign about this?

if possible...i wanted to avoid wireless because of quality issues.

anyway..just wondering.
